The last time Marpig visited her was 7 yrs ago... 15 daes b4 Marpigz mom passed on... Marpig must have mentioned in one of her previous blog entry bout tt visit...
Ever since... had always wanted to pay her a visit... however... this trip was such a disappointment... such a realisation (Marpigz blog is not just bout fd umk!! Shez constantly reflecting and learning the ways of life along the way)
B4 setting orf on a 2 hrs car ride to Kampar, Marpig had a Remy burger!! Come on!! Itz THE burger tt Marpig (& Dingko Nut?) must have in Msia!! Did intro to ang moh colleagues but they just don seem to understand the unique qualities of THE Remy burger... duh. Hence, "西气 了" (cantonese)
Anyw, reached Kampar, 2nd unclez house for lunch b4 going to old folks' home (elderly homes sounds better?) to visit Marpigz grandma.A little bit of Marpigz history; Marpigz momz family have 11 children, 4 of them being daughters while the rest are sons. All sons have PhD xcept the eldest (but he is so rich, think he is a Datuk in KL, a bizman he is), the 3rd who, due to health reasons, didnt managed to study, 5th who, although has no PhD, is an accountant in the UK and holds the title of Grandmaster in International Chess, youngest, who took care of Marpigz sis whilst she was in Leeds Uni but he had a masters in Tribology & is the owner of chinese rest in the UK (cos he said $ is more practical)
Traditional views are crap and long time ago, daughters don get to study while the sons get to. It was the case for Marpigz mom. Then, Marpigz momz 2 elder bros looked down on Marpigz dad cos he is just a policeman... hmp. Pui. Luckily, Marpigz sis and Marpig am GOOD!!
Anyw, after sm lamentations, itz the lunch tt 2nd unclez wife prepared. It was gd but wasnt too comfortable eating with 2nd uncle and aunty & 2 cousins (the last time Marpig met them was way back when Marpigz still in kindergarden!!) Duh. Relatives? Well, itz more like strangers and socialising...After lunch, went to visit Marpigz grandma. In summary, her memoryz failing her; she had difficulty recognising Marpig nor can she barely rems even Marpigz mom... therez lang barrier since Marpig noe naught Hakka. Sigh... all in all, Marpig truly understands wat is 一 相 情愿
Perhaps this is an eg of estranged relatives... Wotever!!
At least after the visit, Marpig went to smwhere nice which made her feel better :D
It is one of the many little waterfall and Ophir-similar mountain!! The sky, the trees and the lovely air!!
Anyw, itz a tiring dae of long car rides and Marpig only look 4wrd to dinner!!
Itz the juice of a fruit called (or as Marpig noe it) "ba long long" with a sour plum... very refreshing & tastes better than sugercane juice!!
Had dinner @ at Malay rest (they starts to noe how to do biz!!) the fd is so-so but the presentation is not bad!!
