HK Day 5 - Lotsa Wax & Sm Creative '粗口'

Marpig had conveniently 4got to mention tt on the night of the 3rd dae, both Ding and Marpig were actually having a KTV session infront of the 台湾中艺节目 while Shanny was sleeping :P Oh, she had also conveniently 4got to mention tt:

1) she spent 200+ quid just on (wat else) miniature toys!!

2) she deliberately jioed Shanny, Ding and Gem along to accompany her when she passed the toys to Marpigz sis b4 continuing their makan spree. Reason being, with Marpigz frens ard, Marpigz sis wil not scold Marpig for spraining her ankle and it worked!! :D

好景不长, after hiking and a series of makan cum shopping spree, al of them parted ways while Marpig rejoin her fam and relatives for the rest of the HK trip

Once again, the beautiful dae kicked started with none other than~~
面线, 猪扒 and 肠仔套餐 from 大家乐!! With 奶茶 too!! :D__

After bf, they're off to Mdm Tussauds!! Ah~~ come to think of it, the last time Marpig went to Mdm Tussauds in HK was wth PS back in July 2004!! OMGosh!! 超久!!
Despite 6 yrs on, itz stil a very touristy attraction (worth it though) and even more so than ever!! 前面超多人,
后面也超多人!! Truly pple mountain, pple sea!! hahahahaha
As usual / common, Marpig and fam took the peak tram up, since itz more cost effective (?) as the package includes entrance to Mdm Tussauds. The familiar 45 deg!! :D
Looking back down on earth... if itz not wols, it would have been a terrifying roller coaster!! :O

And now!! Itz sassy waxy time!!
*尖叫!!!!!!!* 郭富城!!!!!!! OMGOMGOMG!! After all these yrs, Marpig stil likes him and he stil looks so suave!! Yup, Marpigz ideal man (although inner beauty must be present too!!)
Another of Marpigz fav!! Really, think Marpig likes pple with tt kinda eyes and smile + they must be tanned and not like 白斩鸡!!

Suave men aside, therez also displays on how the wax figures were made:
Ya noe, GE 2011 had just gone and Marpigz dad related his lifez xperience on GE with us; he had only voted twice in his lifetime (and hez 62), since itz walkovers for the rest of the other GEs. Kao. Super wayang lah!!
And really, we dont see MPs walking ard Chinatown area, do we? Not tt Marpig noe of in al her 25 yrs!! Complacency? Indeed!!
Spider man!! Duh. Oh, although al of u wont be interested in this, but do u noe tt Peter Parker (character in comic) has died?! Under the 毒辣 Green Goblin!! Apparently, the new Spider Man is an Afro-American teenager called Miles Morales. So remind one of Miles Edgeworth!! Right XT?! :D
And therez also the "mong cha cha" (blur blur) Einstein. Why mong cha cha? Bcos E = MC squared!! Get?!Marpig quite like Donnie Yuen too!! Bcos hez got nice bod and hez athletic!! Yup, think Marpig likes pple whoz athletic!!Astro Boy!! Think if Marpigz hair is gelled up, she would look like him too!! *beaming*

Umk, Marpig recalled she actually got a surprising A2 in history during the O levels!! 不可思议的事!! No wonder Marpig am 长气!! FYI, Marpig requested Marpigz sis to do tt pose!! :P

Marpigz 最爱 actress/singer!! 梅艳芳!! Back in 2004, there werent a wax of her. Dont noe why since shez SO POPULAR!! Shez really talented and versatile; 能唱 + 能演 all roles; be it serious or comical. Hard life too, lest to mention her tough love life... ...
Used to watch quite a few Indian movies (with English subtitles) tog with Marpigz dad when she was young on top of WWF (note: Bret 'Hitman' Hart shared the same bdae as Marpig!! Yes, hez Marpigz fav WWF wrestler!!) Above is the lengendary Amitabh Bachchan!!

And now!! Marpigz 最爱 actor/singer!! 张国荣!!Notice any difference btw 2004 and 2011?! Only the hairstyle right?! (No wrinkles!!) Hahahaha

Anyw, enough fun with the waxworks, itz time for buffet at the Conrad!! Brilliant buffet in HK!! Must try!! But 1st, letz take a leetle stroll along 1 of HKz wet markets!!
Itz evening then but guess ttz when the pple go get fresh food for dinner after they KO, unlike in the Leetle Red Dot where wet markets would have closed by late aftern. Therez many produce such as live abalone and~~
Fish with their stomach aka fish maw!! Just tt they are not fried and looked very different to the dried version which we are so familiar with

Therez also the new HK craze; a local HK home store very much like the Asian IKEA, G.O.D!!
Cant rem who 1st told Marpig the phrase "Delay No More" (1 of the many really rude Cantonese 粗口s) But vaguely rem Ding was quite up to date, si? hahahaha For the benefits of those who dont really speak Cantonese:

1) "小心 PK". PK = "扑街" (pok gai) meaning die or s**t or similar, depending on context
2) "Delay No More" = "Dui lei lou mou" = F**k yr mom, yup, really rude

Think in Nov when Marpig meet up with Gem, wil ask her more!! Heh!!
And finally, b4 they reach Conrad for the dinner tt night, they passed by a pet shop where a poodle (?) was having a great time grooming itself with 专人的服务!! So cutie pie!! *pat pat* Must have costs quite a bomb too!! *Wide eyes* (Just like the look on the dog in the poster bhind the poodle!!)

Next up wil be Marpigz last dae in HK!!

HK Day 4 - Nth But Food

Itz been a long long time since Marpig writes columnistic entries bout the world. Think itz bcos everyth have bcome so wayang, pple with no passion/hearts/feelings etc, tt itz pretty pointless to keep going bout the Utopia beliefs she is known for by frens who knew her (read: Marpig am feeling 失望 by the 'New World')

Indeed, below is wat Sansao wished for Marpig in her belated bdae email:

"May you always be so cheerful and full of energy. Always fighting for justice. (The world needs ppl like you, esp Singapore politics!! kaka..)"

Marpig 真的那么有正义感吗?! :D Of cos, Sansao also identified 1 of Marpigz vices (not difficult at all!!):

"May you be healthier everyday. (cut down those fatty meals ya. Everytime read your blog is about sinful food!!)" *smiles*

But!! Marpig am gonna disappoint Sansao with this entry ttz overwhelmed with food!! :D__

Picking up from where she left, the 3 piggies finished dinner and went back to the hotel while Gem went home

Back in the hotel, itz the usual shower biz, admiring the daez shopping, etc. Cant really rem wat else they did after tt but rem Shanny chatted to her hubby and went to bed while the stil-hyper-active Ding and Marpig were outside (they were staying in a suite!!) watching late night shows on the tee vee

Wow!! Late night shows!! Marpigz fav!! Always love late nights shows bcos the quality seems to be better + Marpig loves the night!!

Watching the shows with the sleepless Ding, therez this super 早期 show called 鸳鸯剑侠, starring the child actress 冯宝宝!! Watz more interesting was tt the 绝世武器 in tt show is the 鱼肠剑!! (the english subtitle for it is literally 'fish intestines sword'!!)

Then therez the Taiwanese 星光大道 kinda show (?) where Jam was 1 of the 嘉宾. Cant rem wat the show talked bout but Ding and Marpig had this conversation during the show:

Marpig: 你喜欢JJ吗?
Ding: 还好,有些歌还不错
Marpig: 豆浆油条?
Ding: 哪一条?

Wah~hahahahaha. Anyw, they went to bed after smtime, in anticipation for the next makan dae!!

Was supposed to have bf but in the end, the 3 of them woke up quite late and hence, while taking turns to shower, they had 老婆饼s in front of the tee vee ttz playing a super farny Korean show called 猪兜王子复仇记

Anyw, they were finally done and dusted and even b4 meeting Gem for lunch, they had begun their makaning ways at 荣华 (12ish pm)!!
蛋黄莲蓉酥 and 皮蛋酥!! Heavenly~~!! How many did Marpig buy of each? Think 3 each!! She wanted to give it to Marpigz dad and sis but sis dont want them while itz not tt healthy for Marpigz dad. Hence, they al ended up in Marpigz stomach!!

Met up with Gem ard 1ish pm and due to 观众要求 for sm nice dim sum, she brought us to this rest in Mongkok:超多人!! The Q was so long, they had to take a Q number and was asked to go back ard 4pm. FYI, the time was 130pm then when they took a Q number. This dim sum plc is a must-go bcos:

1) Itz Michelin starred!!
2) Michelin starred yet affordable price!!
3) 现做现卖!!

Bcos they really wanted dim sum + itz Michelin starred, it was decided tt they must try the dim sum in order to see if itz really tt gd!! Meanwhile, since itz gonna be a long wait, they went to a local 面店 nearby for lunch (2pm). Ding had 水饺面 while Shanny had~
牛肉河粉!!
And Marpig had 鲮鱼球河粉!! They also ordered side dishes (limited, since itz a simple 面店 afteral) which included 水饺 and 炸鱼皮!!
The fried fish skins were ok and itz a gd way to make use of all parts of the fish, since the fish meat were used for making the fishballs :D
After devouring their lunch, they stil had quite sm time to go b4 itz dim sum time, hence, they walk ard Mongkok, in search of sm liulian desserts (3pm)
Despite feeling ful, they managed to clear a big plate of liulian snowice with red bean dumplings and~
Liulian sago with REAL LIULIAN!! Wah~~ 超棒!! :D__ In retrospec, think they were trying to past time by eating... hahahahaha

Then, came 430pm when 紧张的时刻到了!!
They got the long-awaited seat at 添好运!! Seated and looking out at the Q, Marpig cant help but felt abit gloatish!! :PInitially, the rest didnt have a table for 4 (they were slightly late and missed their number) which was why Ding and Shanny were sitting at a far corner (green arrow) but it wasnt too long when they get to sit tog after the customers sitting bside Marpig (finally) finished their food

Without further dooda, they went makan crazy and ordered (despite feeling 70% ful from the lunch and dessert in a short span of 2 hrs)~
Their signature dish, crispy char siu bao!! Marpig never really like char siu, specially those fatty ones but stil, the buns were delicious!!
Marpigz fav, chicken feet!! Yummy!!
Therez also 鲜虾肠粉!!
荷叶糯米鸡!!
蒸排骨!!
All time fav, 虾饺!! And while Marpig washed everyth down with her usual 奶茶, the rest had 滋润红枣茶!! Eh, there are smth else inside which are gd for the skin too but cant rem!! Overall, the meal was scrumptious and not too xpensive, considering itz a Michelin starred rest. So the next time u go HK, do give it a try!! (2-20 Kwong Wah Street, Mongkok)

You would have thought tt they ended their 'full-filling' dae, but no. They continued shopping/walking and guess wot, they had dinner 3 hrs later at 好好茶餐厅!!Was a packed plc again (wkend + itz dinner time) and think itz kinda faymoss for itz 煲仔饭
都不知道为什么一直吃!! But the stomachs were definitely stretched to the limit tt dae. Hence, Ding had a healthy Holicks with cereal drink while they ordered only a plate of chinese broccoli
and a 煲仔饭 (cant rem wat ingredients, perhaps too ful!!) to share!!
Thinking back, even Marpig was feeling 102% ful then. As Marpig am tying this entry up to this point, shez actually feeling abit sick from recalling the non-stop eating she did tt dae :P MaX 极限!!

Anyw, they did try to walk off the sinful, non-stop gorging dae in Mongkok when they noticed a crowd had gathered...
On a closer look, itz a grp of Philipinos / Thais (?) singing and dancing
Most of them were men whoz x-dressed. Think itz sm kind of festival?

Stil in Mongkok, Gem took us to Langham Place shopping mall in the hrt of Mongkok for sm late night shoppingWhy did Marpig mention this shopping mall? Wel, for those who had watched 女王办公室, this was the so-called Legend Place!!
And finally!! The dae of food gorging had ended, but not b4 they bought a trolley ful of 公仔面!! (HK has the most varied, colourful and interesting instant noodles!!)
