Went supermarket on Grocery Day and was in the Q for paying when a late 50s man Qed up behind Marpig. As usual, ended up with idle chatting about how busy the Q was, the weather etc. Then, he asked Marpig,
“Are you from The Philippines?”
*bewildered and abit offended* Answered with a very flat “No”
“Oh, sorry. My wife is from The Philippines and I thought you might be too”
“Hahahaha. Is it because I looked tanned? Well, people from Asia can be quite tan too, not just the Filipinos”
“Yah, you are right. Are you from Thailand then?”
“Nope”
“Malaysia?”
“Close”
“Indonesia”
*thinking, may be he is not so gd with his Geography* “Nope, I am from Singapore”
“Oh!! Ok!! Normally people from Asia speak English with a certain accent and you speak different from them…”
“As in?”
“You speak well, are you born in Britain?”
“Nope. It’s just that I get so used to speaking English”
The conversion continued on bout him knowing how to fly and introducing sm flying schools in Bristol to learn flying.
So, Marpig learnt the slanging tongue and slang pretty well. Hmmm…
Anyway, yup. Marpig am “tanned”. Not as tanned as Marpig used to be but should Marpig say, “got colour”. There are sm sunny spells last month and it was nice to just let the sun beat against Marpigz skin and face. But, currently, albeit being Summer, it rains all dae and temp are low at 14 – 15 deg. Kao. Colleagues were all joking tt the UK has only 3 seasons, Winter, Spring, Autumn and Winter again. Summer has gone due to global warming.
Argh. Lousy weather. But nvm. Itz Germany Marpig am going soon!!!!!!!!!!! Just cant wait to backpack.

Rojak is the Most Unique (?)
Received a call from Marpigz dad. Said he received Marpigz Fathers’ Day card for him. He asked for Marpigz new address said he gonna send bdae gifts to Marpig VERY HAPPY!! After Marpigz making a fuss over him not remembering Marpigz bdae, etc, he now rem!! So happy!! As for gifts, therez no need!! Parents are a gift to their children. *blushed*
The month of June sees the highest of Marpigz spending!! Bcos of the move as well as lotsa social activities!! Gosh. Must cut down next month. But, Marpig am going Germany next month!! Sharks, cant save the next month. Kao.
Was going for a meeting on the bus one of the daes. An old man decided to sit beside Marpig. Strange, really seems to have this uncanny affinity with the elderly pple. Seems like elderly pple like Marpig. Even in the workplace, Marpig am so “arh” with the older engineers. Therez BB who taught Marpig bout the diff btw lagers and beer, mentor who teaches Marpig bout different structural types for building and Bumblebee, who calls Marpig “flower” becos he said Marpig smiles like a flower. Oooh~~~ :p
The same th in Singapore. Am so happy chatting with technicians in previous jobs. Really, guess Marpig is so down to earth. Xcept times when Marpig decided to “travel” all over the world just by talking and keep insisting in learning to fly one dae. :p
Really love to go back, to the back alley just opp. China Square and walk down the Garung Guni. So fun just to look at the wares tt they are displaying and selling!! Been trying to look for old books and comics but itz soooooo rare now. Anyway, shall hope to visit Garung Guni when Marpig goes back next time. Hope they are still there. Don’t like the flea market. Itz so commercialised and it just doesn’t feel like the authentic Garung Guni!!
Come to think of it, a few colleagues are planning to go Malaysia in Aug as one of them is going back. Itz quite sad bcos, while he told the other colleagues wat Malaysia has to offer, Marpig could only listen and thought, “Wat has Singapore got to offer?”
So, can any1 tell Marpig wat has Singapore got to offer for tourists?
Even as a Singaporean, Marpig would have said no in the 1st instant.
Food, yes. But, wat we have, Malaysia has them too. Thailand has it too, even cheaper. The only gd th is Singapore has all the diff cuisines all gathered in one place. But if tourists talked bout authenticity, they will still go to the country to savour the cuisines.
Casinos? Commercial. Macau, Philippines, etc also has casinos. London-Eye (watz the one in Singapore called? Itz so ordinary and cliché tt Marpig actually 4gotton, not to say the rest of the world.)
Mountains to climb? None. Nice diving sites? None (unless Pulau Hantu with poor visibility is considered one).
Really, other countries has got history places, if not, authentic cultures. Natural spaces. Wat has Singapore got to offer then? Uniquely Singapore, come to think of it, it is really unique tt Singapore has nth to offer xcept hardworking pple (HK also, so itz not really unique), gd education systems (tt churn out pple with high IQ and low EQ).
All the above are still not authentic. Itz not for tourists. Oh well, think only Rojak is authentic.

Every1 Needs TLC
Was watching a TVB show and the female lead actor was saying how her grandma would rub her back, give her comfort and nurse her back to health when she was young.
Once again, Marpig went down memory lane. Every1 of us will definitely be familiar with the above. May not be our grandmothers but definitely our mothers or even fathers.
Still rem the times when Marpigz mom will rub tons of sticky Vick’s on Marpigz chest, forehead, throat and nose when Marpig was down with cold. Yup. Became a “sticky child” :P
Then there were times when Marpig was bumping into ths, breaking her limps here and there in sch tt requires Marpigz mom to go to sch and fetch Marpig home. Watz wrong with Marpig?! Hahahahhahaha
But, ever since we have all grown up, there are less and less of such TLC. All of us must be thinking, aiya, adults don need to be fussed over by their mothers/fathers. Which to some xtend, is true. Then again, why do we feel so happy when our frens or partners give us surprises, show us care and concern etc etc? These in fact, are fussing over too!! So, subconsciously, we still hope to be fussed over. Just tt the social norm “says” tt adults are too old to be fussed about by our parents. Otherwise, pple will label the fussed person as “yang3 bu2 da4”
The fuss-prived us got to look for TLC from other sources. Needless to say, if our partners (Marpig doesn’t have 1 yet lah) dote on us, we get our share of fuss, and we r happy.
The question to ask ourselves is, does it mean we don need TLC just bcos we are adults? Is it embarrassing to show our love, care and concern to our loved ones? Do we really have no time to shower others with a few minutes of our thoughts and love just bcos we are working like dogs, mon to fri, morn till night?
Having gone through once (itz enough) of not saying how much Marpig love and am grateful to Marpig mom b4 she left 4ever, “Not enough time”, in Marpigz dictionary, is a diabolical phrase. It can never make a gd xcuse. Marpig really am quite sick of pple who kept using this phrase.
Anyway, this seems to be a reprimanding and boring bloggie entry…

Oh, one very interesting thingy. Received smth from Beenie!! Think she doesnt noe Marpig am moving or she thought Marpig has moved. She sent Marpig 2 parcels. Received one but the other is in the post office cos "the parcel is too large for your letter box"
Didnt open the 1st parcel. Why? Cos Beenie wrote, "Part 1 of 2. Do not open until both arrived!!"
So Marpig was like... duh... ever since Monday, could only drool and wonder feverishly wat is in parcel 1... To think tt Marpig am really so silly as to listen to wat Beenie wrote!! :D)

Keep It Short!!
When Marpig went to HK, one of the many food th Marpig always look for is curry fishballs. Absolutely fantastica!! Yumyum!! Can eat 10 sticks or more if no1 stop Marpig!! Oh man!!
Love of pigs and curry fishballs are so strong tt Marpig actually bought a file holder of Mcdull holding a stick of curry fishballs!! Simply feel just like McDull (in many other ways too!!) :D)))
Just the look of the happy and contented smiling face makes Marpig soooooo happy too!! Oh boy oh boy!!
To think tt Ding will soon be going to HK and savouring tt curry fishballs and dim sum!! Kao!! *Slurp*!!
Reproduction Time
Nope. Itz not Marpig. But other animals. *Counting fingers* Tot itz been 3 yrs since Marpig is in the UK, but itz has only been almost 2 yrs...
Think the 1st yr seems long bcos although being a student who don work 9 to 5 (but more like 24hrs on-call), time passes rather ylwols...
So, itz only been almost 2 yrs... and in another 4 mths, Marpig would have worked for a yr!! Cant believe it. And wat have Marpig achieved these 2 yrs?
Just a masters and 1 yr of working xperience. Gosh. How pathetic.
So, must really do smth "WOW" like travelling more. :P
Oh, was carried away. Bout reproduction.
Been staying alone and thus have more time to do idle thinking. Been sitting in the kitchen and admiring the sunset right in front of Marpig while listening to young birdies flapping their wings and chirping loudly on top of the boiler's flue. Rem in another previous bloggie entry Marpig talked bout having a bird's nest up there? Yup. Think the eggs hatched and now the birdies are taking their 1st flight lessons (wonder when will Marpig save enough to learn how to fly!!)
Then there are also other type of birdies like robins who flew in and out of bushes in kamikazi style... almost langa with Marpigz face!! hahahahaha "Careful"!!
Rem Charlotte's Web? Where her babies hatched and they all take off via parachutes tt they span to take them to other places? Yup. Sm of Charlotte's babies travelled in the wind to Marpigz flatz window still. Was trying to let a really irritating fly go and saw these teeny weeny red young spiders, bout 1/2 the size of a ball-point pen fullstop crawling here and there on the window still. Itz like they just touchdown and looking for a nice spot to set up their homes. SO CUTE!!
Ok, not all pple will think like Marpig thinks. Understood.
Now, come the atrocious bit. FLies. They give birth to maggots. And guess where they did it. In Marpigz bin!! Kao. One fine day, after a shower, Marpig wanted to bring the bins out for the collectors. Saw tt this bin has white thingy littered all around. Didnt noe wat they were, tot they were birdz poo poo. But when Marpig goes nearer to get it up the step and out, saw tt they white thingy were wriggling, wet, horrible, disgusting, revolting maggots!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But, no choice, got to get rid of rubbish!! So, was cursing and swearing and trying so hard with one hand to pull the bin (fill with rubbish from the stupid neighbour) up the step and out to the front. Oh man. Maggots!!!!!!!!!!! EEEEWWW!!
Hopefully the birds eat them all up.
When Marpig came home, the bins were emptied and no more maggots!! GOOD!!
Why are there maggots? The stupid in considerate neighbours throw breads uncovered into the bin. Rain comes, damp, fLies lay eggs, maggots. Kao.
Really cannot stand the fLies here. Itz so diff from those in asia. Over here, they are huge, bout a watch battery. They make so much buzzling noise when they fly u tot they are sinister and angry with u. AND, they just wouldnt go!!

Proven Worry
Went for a meeting again yesdae. The security guard at the reception is a diff man. Upon signing in and chatting, got to noe tt the guard is a retired, part-timer; his colleague has went for a holiday.
Being 102% frenly (especially with old pple), Marpig chatted with the old man (think btw 55 - 65) since she is still early for the meeting @ 9am.
So, got to noe tt he is retired, he has been to Singapore, like the place, his wife smoke a little, he wife passed away 2 yrs ago, he has a daughter & this is the interesting part.
He got to noe a Thai widow bout age 50 with 3 children, 1 gal (in the Uk with her), 2 boys (in Thai) on the internet.
Imagine Marpigz bewilderment at this old man who noes not only how to use the computer & internet, but also to noe women from the net!! Guess itz cos Marpigz dad still hasnt master the power of the computer & the net (hope he doesnt actually) xcept to book budget airline tics online!!
The old man said he is quite interested in this Thai lady he met who is pitiful cos:
1) Her husband died
2) She came over to the UK, met an 80 yr old man while working in a care home (smth like old folks' home) got married to him but he died.
He also said she cooks well, even had a certficate in massaging and she massaged his foot and itz "healed".
All this while, Marpig am listening to him & pondering tons of questions.
May be Marpig has evolved again or may be Marpig is just being difficult to her own dad... but, Marpig doesnt really feel tt this old man is 100% lustful (well, sort of. Men always think of sex, be it now or later. SEX is always in their equations) Itz quite ok... for a widowed old man and a widow old women to come together and have one another for companion... think the man wants company (& sex & sm1 to be his servant) while the woman wants company (& sm1 to take care & provide ($) for her)...
Got to also noe his daughter plays hockey and was also a goally just like Marpig!! Got to noe tt he went to watch her daughter play in the bundled up goally gears too!! So, he is a gd father in a sense.

Yup!! Marpig am jealous. Here is a father who at least watched her daughter played hockey b4!! Sigh... Marpigz father NEVER watched a single hockey match Marpig played...
Sigh... don noe don noe... Marpigz dad is not the best dad, hez got many ths tt he should have done but didnt and he disappointed Marpig so many times... ths other fathers did for their daughters on top of paying which he did not and which caused Marpigz huge disappointment in him... yet... why is it tt Marpig, after lamenting, still think he is a gd father and husband to Marpigz mom?
Guess itz cos of sm1 nice memories of the past...
Come to think of it... another contributing reason as to why Marpig 102% DO NOT (allow) him to re-marry is cos of jealousy; the woman will steal away all the teeny weeny bit of leftover attention from Marpigz dad.

Boring Pcs of Discussion
Do not know how Marpig chance upon Mary Shelley in Wikipedia. Must have been searching for smth articles. Then, read bout her mother, also a writer/poet and a feminist named Mary Wollstonecraft.
Been talking bout notion of feminism in sm bloggie entries. And really, most pple have the wrong impression of the word or may be, misunderstanding of what feminists fight for.
Quite like her ideas on the notion and quoting sm really nice phrases,
“…if a society decides to leave the education of its children to women, those women must be well-educated in order to pass on knowledge to the next generation”
“…women are silly and superficial but not because of innate deficiency of mind but because men have denied them access to education”
There are many other thingy she mentioned but really, in modern sense, she is not 100% feminist because as the Wikipedia article put it, she never asked for equality of rights for both sexes.
As far as Marpig believes, we should all have equal rights or, equal opportunities to do/try things. We should all be treated as humans, rather than by virtue of the difference in the type of genitals one has (a very crude way of speaking, but considering sex changes these daes…)
Then again, if every1 believe there is a God, then we are all equal in His eyes. Therefore, the rational goes tt those who believe in God but still think either 1 sex is inferior/superior to the other, is really contradicting themselves and truly are biased.

Been thinking bout the way Marpig feel/do bout/to him as well as wat ML said bout retribution (in relationships lah)

He is really a nice guy. But then again, itz proven tt gals don like boring and dull gd guys. Kao. Can gals have romantic, interesting, understanding gd guys?!
Every1 must be scratching their heads as to why Marpig suddenly feel tt he gets on her nerves (eeek!!)

4) He keeps saying relationship is a matter of give and take but to Marpig, it is not as simple as tt. If there is no love or common interests/topic, how can any party give in to the other?
The questions he asked and his pestering and probiness is the spark of everyth. It just means he really doesn’t have much social life (he told Marpig he has little frens to hang out with and everytime he is either in the office, or at home or going for a jog. Kao.) It also suggests him and Marpig doesn’t not have a common topic worth talking bout.
Worse, he suddenly start “discussing” or “debating” (as he coined it) bout wat type of men gals like etc.
Marpig told him lotsa ths and he still don understands. Kao. To the xtent tt Marpig, blunt as a club, said to him “If Marpig was yr gf, Marpig will also break up with u”

In fact, his gf left him cos he is so man; not romantic, not understanding, always say he tired, etc etc. Not his fault entirely, since his personality is like tt. His gf is not entirely correct as she left him for another man out of the blue, without warning.

Very bad... of Marpig?
Smhow, (hope he never reads this) he is getting on Marpigz nerve, even if he is not physically here. Why?
1) He calls too often (but tone down quite abit after smth tt Marpig did/said)
2) He msn everydae!! Even when Marpig is working!! Asking silly ths and just wanting to chat despite knowing Marpig am working!! (Why sign in MSN? Erm, no idea.)
3) He keeps harping on the same topic over and over and over and over again. Guess he thought itz such a nice topics but to the xtent tt Marpig feel like scolding him. And, for Marpig to want to scold sm1, tt person is really really really irritable.
4) He is the very very typical Singaporean guy who thinks nth but work and getting married. He told Marpig he is ready to get married. He keeps complaining he drives around and don noe where to go etc. No frens.
5) He keeps telling Marpig, "Today I went for a XXX km jog @ XXXX" and Marpig is like *raised eyebrows* + "as if Marpig want to noe!!"
Then he keeps talking bout same topic over and over again btw men and women. kao. Keeps asking Marpig how gals think, how guys should be etc. Biangz.
So, in "counter attack" Marpig, being blunt and even more so when pissed, told him off directly ths like
"No matter how independent/capable a gal is, they still want their bfs/husbands to be romantic, understanding, caring etc" (But he is not)
"If I were yr gf, I will also break up with u" (!! Yup. TTzwatisaid)
"Marpig am so independent and am so used to freedom and not being tied down just bcos of having a bf/family, she doesnt see the necc to wed. Itz just bout finding a soulmate, marriage will come but not a must"
So, imagine his utter disbelief tt a gal actually said ths to him so bluntly.
Even Marpig cant believe it. At 1st told Beenie Marpig might consider him 15%, but now, itz plummeted to naught.

Germany & China
Marpig will be going to Munich in mid July for hols!! Really, ever since MW told Marpig she will be going to Germany for her month-long training, Marpig has been contemplating going to meet her & really catch up on backpacking!!
Been saying alot on backpacking trips to all-over-place but didnt realise them. So, this shall be the 1st step!! Gonna spend 2 daes in Munich then take a train to Burghausen to meet up with MW!!
Gonna spent quite abit... sigh... am estimating the trip to cost Marpig about 1.5 monthz of her savings!! Gosh, to think her min monthly savings target has not been met for all these months (xcept one)
But, really, why save & not spend? Not splurge but there or there about (Marpigz new catch phrase)
Marpigz dad been travelling NON-STOP. He went Eastern Europe then now is in Thai (again), then going to Msia (again) and God noes where he wants to go. Maybe visit Marpigz sis and Marpig.
Did thought of asking Marpigz sis to join Marpig but, she will say Marpigz mad/"rich" + the fact tt she wont really leave BIL alone... Travelling alone? up, for tt 2 daes in Munich. But, it doesnt really matter. Just tt Marpig cant take pictures of herself in front of those churches, museums and castles.
Shall post lotsa pictures up after Munich/Bavaria trip.
Then, Ding might not see this until 3 weeks later (or if she check out Marpigz bloggie while shez on the road) Shez backpacking in China!! Kao. Felt like dumping everyth and go too!! China backpacking!! Itz wat Marpig has up her sleeves... or, one of her many sleeves :P

Itz Grocery Dae and Marpig am walking down the toys aisle in ASDA with a colleague to do the weekz grocery.
Since itz gonna be Marpigz bdae, (a gd xcuse to spend :P) Marpig cant resist a LEGO set and yup, bought it @ £8 = SGD36!! But... itz so irresistable!!
Then, out of the blue, therez Cranium!! Felt like buying it immediately cos JC classmates enjoyed the game tremendously & itz just means future gatherings doesnt have to be ltd to Settlers Cafe!! But itz going for £15 = SGD45!! (Though the LEGO set is almost there or there about :P)

Therez also smth tt catches Marpigz eye for the entire musical. Nope, not any guys buy a very old couple. Guess their age averages bout... 70+
Initially, the old woman sits her husband (they were right in front of Marpig) and then, every so often, she will smile and look at her husband to "tell" him itz so interesting. She would clap her hands in joy and anticipation. Itz just so nice seeing old couples... who still do the ths they would do in their youth OR, do ths they haven not had the chance to do.
Ah~~~ talking bout eternal love...

FHM = Food and Happiness for Marpig
Strange. Been considering marriage, bfs, career, white hair these few weeks/months. Think it all started when HE keeps calling and smsing since January 2007. Marpig spend more brain juices thinking bout such issues especially after Marpigz sisz wedding in Feb, when Marpigz sis told Marpig all of a sudden in a train station while we waited for a train to go Church, "Don set yr stds so high. Find a guy who is nice and love u. Don go for looks.", when Marpigz uncle told Marpig when Marpig was in Leeds, "When will it be yr turn? Yr mother will be happy. U don have to get married but find a bf 1st."
... ... Sigh. It seems more and more like finding a bf/husband for them rather than for Marpig. Itz like, Marpig got to do this so as to be answerable to them... sigh.
Went to repair heels of shoes costing £8.95. Eh... ttz not the point. The point is, Marpig went to collect it and the cobbler couldnt find the shoes. So he asked, "Wat is the colour of yr shoes?" In Marpigz mind, "Erm... all the shoes u are repairing are all black." Being efficient, Marpig already seen Marpigz shoes left unfinished on the working bench, Marpig pointed them to him without answering him his silly redundant question, "I think they are there".
Anyway, going back to wat Marpig am toking bout, itz so hard to find a guy who truly understands wat love is, who loves Marpig as she is and who is like Marpig, who enjoys eating, cooking, travelling, being romantic, xciting, funny etc etc. Ok, he doesnt need to be 100% like Marpig but must at least share Marpigz thoughts.
Recently been in contact with uni frens and 1 of them is currently training in Germany for a yr cos hez working for BMW. Gosh. The way he converses (as seen in his emails), his thinking, his focus and directions in life... kao. This is just one of the many typical shallow guys tt Marpig has seen too many and would ignore, if Marpig did not understand the meaning of networking.
He uses too much bad grammer and singlish to the point itz really unrefine and chu1 su2. Marpig still uses lahs and lors and bad grammer but hez the ultimate.
When asked bout his career etc, he does not noe wat he really wants and am actually stumped for words when Marpig told him bout hers. Gosh. No aim and ambitious. May be he only have "to make $" in his mind but noe not how to.
And, he is so insensitive and inconsiderate, selfish too, basically, not a gentleman. He actually suggested Marpig going Germany or Italy with him for tour and to co-drive the car. Marpig am fine but he didnt think of how far and how inconvenient Marpig got to travel to Germany then to Italy then to Germany and back to UK while he get back home in Germany. So, Marpig purposely chided him (in yahoo group email) bout his obnoxious inconsiderate streak and guess wat, he actually replied using the method Marpig most detests; reply in btw lines. Ya noe, writing his reply in btw the entire email in sm other colours. Kao. Really...
Itz like, there are so many guys (in general) tt only think of themselves 1st, to make themselves happy, and it will take more than a 4-leaf clover to find sm guys who will spare a thought for others, b4 they think of themselves.
"When guys fall in love, they try to make themselves happy. When women fall in love, they try to make the other happy so tt they will in turn, be happy" --- from Hez the Woman, Shez the Man 2.
Are there any guys who think of others 1st, who think of making others happy so tt they will be happy themselves too? Really, so hard to think of one.
Beenie is so lucky to have found sm1 who waited for her since uni *winked* and who stands by her quietly, think of ways to make her happy by doing ths ttz pleasant and romantic like this and tt (cant reveal too much into Beeniez juicy news!! :P)
These are the sort of guys tt Marpig am looking for, like Marpigz dad too, though he spends like hez got a $ tap hidden in his pockets, he does try to show his care and concern and love for us all in little ways. He doesnt say much but itz the sort of ths a guy does for his loved ones and the feelings which most gals look for.
Never mind if he is not a millionaire, never mind if he is not Mr Bachelor, but itz the sensitivity, romantic thingy tt Marpig wants. Act like a gentleman should but not over does it. Not MCP. Do not think tt women are inferior. Simple as tt. For goodness sake, mothers are female too!!
HIM. Hez really gd in a sense. Marpig am grateful for him for helping Marpig to buy the laptop in Singapore 1st and to bring it to Marpig in Dec. Marpig am happy he comes all the way to UK in Dec to go travelling with Marpig. But, all Marpig could say is, HE is a gd fren cos hez there when u need help.
(Then again... may be he likes Marpig ttz why he never say no to Marpig. Yup. Think all/most guys will agree.)
But, HE is not the type Marpig am looking for. Cos, he made several grave mistakes OR guess itz incompatibility:
1) He eats salad, don take laksa, very health conscience and always tok bout jogging and going for kilometer-runs in the evenings. The last time we went out, Marpig only ordered Kway Chap and Laksa (wanted to finish both herself but think itz wise to not scare him) so shared with him and hez shocked Marpig eat so much and told Marpig ths like his frens are fat, didnt do xercise, etc etc. TTz a grave mistake.
2) Food is never his favourite topic. He likes to tok bout salads and running and keeping slim. Hez obssessed with his legs as well cos he said they are slim and lean (due to his jogging).
3) He calls and the 2 sentences he always tell Marpig are "Today I went to jog at Changi/East Coast" and "I ate salad at Ikea (or sm other places)". Other than tt, he cant find any topic to chat to Marpig. TT time when Marpig was in Leeds, as xpected, he called again. And we have nth to tok bout and can u believe it, we actually went silence over the phone for a gd 2 minutes.
4) He keeps thinking of and toking bout settling down and getting married and
starting a family. Keeps telling Marpig got this company in Singapore looking for mech engrs etc.
So, all in all, he will make a gd fren. But, he will not be a gd companion, a gd romantic bf nor husband. Well, being a husband, he will be a responsible one. But gals are funny, they want romantic and interesting husbands too.
HE is sooo dry... nth to tok bout, no common hobbies watsoever. Nope. Plus, Marpig wants freedom... actually told him tt Marpig will like to travel and see the world, not being tied down by a bf or husband who will not agree to Marpig travelling and working in other countries. Even with bf/husband, the couples can always shift and be "mobile" to work in another country together or just be on our separate lifestyle and still be together. With children is the same.
In other words, Marpig just doesnt want to put an "anchor" and be grounded forever. Guess itz cos Marpig has been so independent and got too much freedom...
Aiya, think finding a companion is the word. Itz not a must to get married (off) in this era... of cos, if one can find the love of their life, marriage is just a matter of time and paperwork. The BIG word afterall is COMPANIONSHIP, sm1 who gets along with u, love u, willing to do this and tt for u, stand by u and vice versa.

Anyway, going back to wat Marpig am toking bout, itz so hard to find a guy who truly understands wat love is, who loves Marpig as she is and who is like Marpig, who enjoys eating, cooking, travelling, being romantic, xciting, funny etc etc. Ok, he doesnt need to be 100% like Marpig but must at least share Marpigz thoughts.
Recently been in contact with uni frens and 1 of them is currently training in Germany for a yr cos hez working for BMW. Gosh. The way he converses (as seen in his emails), his thinking, his focus and directions in life... kao. This is just one of the many typical shallow guys tt Marpig has seen too many and would ignore, if Marpig did not understand the meaning of networking.
He uses too much bad grammer and singlish to the point itz really unrefine and chu1 su2. Marpig still uses lahs and lors and bad grammer but hez the ultimate.
When asked bout his career etc, he does not noe wat he really wants and am actually stumped for words when Marpig told him bout hers. Gosh. No aim and ambitious. May be he only have "to make $" in his mind but noe not how to.
And, he is so insensitive and inconsiderate, selfish too, basically, not a gentleman. He actually suggested Marpig going Germany or Italy with him for tour and to co-drive the car. Marpig am fine but he didnt think of how far and how inconvenient Marpig got to travel to Germany then to Italy then to Germany and back to UK while he get back home in Germany. So, Marpig purposely chided him (in yahoo group email) bout his obnoxious inconsiderate streak and guess wat, he actually replied using the method Marpig most detests; reply in btw lines. Ya noe, writing his reply in btw the entire email in sm other colours. Kao. Really...
Itz like, there are so many guys (in general) tt only think of themselves 1st, to make themselves happy, and it will take more than a 4-leaf clover to find sm guys who will spare a thought for others, b4 they think of themselves.

Are there any guys who think of others 1st, who think of making others happy so tt they will be happy themselves too? Really, so hard to think of one.
Beenie is so lucky to have found sm1 who waited for her since uni *winked* and who stands by her quietly, think of ways to make her happy by doing ths ttz pleasant and romantic like this and tt (cant reveal too much into Beeniez juicy news!! :P)
These are the sort of guys tt Marpig am looking for, like Marpigz dad too, though he spends like hez got a $ tap hidden in his pockets, he does try to show his care and concern and love for us all in little ways. He doesnt say much but itz the sort of ths a guy does for his loved ones and the feelings which most gals look for.
Never mind if he is not a millionaire, never mind if he is not Mr Bachelor, but itz the sensitivity, romantic thingy tt Marpig wants. Act like a gentleman should but not over does it. Not MCP. Do not think tt women are inferior. Simple as tt. For goodness sake, mothers are female too!!
HIM. Hez really gd in a sense. Marpig am grateful for him for helping Marpig to buy the laptop in Singapore 1st and to bring it to Marpig in Dec. Marpig am happy he comes all the way to UK in Dec to go travelling with Marpig. But, all Marpig could say is, HE is a gd fren cos hez there when u need help.
(Then again... may be he likes Marpig ttz why he never say no to Marpig. Yup. Think all/most guys will agree.)
But, HE is not the type Marpig am looking for. Cos, he made several grave mistakes OR guess itz incompatibility:
1) He eats salad, don take laksa, very health conscience and always tok bout jogging and going for kilometer-runs in the evenings. The last time we went out, Marpig only ordered Kway Chap and Laksa (wanted to finish both herself but think itz wise to not scare him) so shared with him and hez shocked Marpig eat so much and told Marpig ths like his frens are fat, didnt do xercise, etc etc. TTz a grave mistake.
2) Food is never his favourite topic. He likes to tok bout salads and running and keeping slim. Hez obssessed with his legs as well cos he said they are slim and lean (due to his jogging).
3) He calls and the 2 sentences he always tell Marpig are "Today I went to jog at Changi/East Coast" and "I ate salad at Ikea (or sm other places)". Other than tt, he cant find any topic to chat to Marpig. TT time when Marpig was in Leeds, as xpected, he called again. And we have nth to tok bout and can u believe it, we actually went silence over the phone for a gd 2 minutes.
4) He keeps thinking of and toking bout settling down and getting married and
starting a family. Keeps telling Marpig got this company in Singapore looking for mech engrs etc.
So, all in all, he will make a gd fren. But, he will not be a gd companion, a gd romantic bf nor husband. Well, being a husband, he will be a responsible one. But gals are funny, they want romantic and interesting husbands too.
HE is sooo dry... nth to tok bout, no common hobbies watsoever. Nope. Plus, Marpig wants freedom... actually told him tt Marpig will like to travel and see the world, not being tied down by a bf or husband who will not agree to Marpig travelling and working in other countries. Even with bf/husband, the couples can always shift and be "mobile" to work in another country together or just be on our separate lifestyle and still be together. With children is the same.
In other words, Marpig just doesnt want to put an "anchor" and be grounded forever. Guess itz cos Marpig has been so independent and got too much freedom...
Aiya, think finding a companion is the word. Itz not a must to get married (off) in this era... of cos, if one can find the love of their life, marriage is just a matter of time and paperwork. The BIG word afterall is COMPANIONSHIP, sm1 who gets along with u, love u, willing to do this and tt for u, stand by u and vice versa.
Sharks, should pay the Americans lotsa lollies to get a clone.
Nitty Gritty
Ok, therez tons to blog but Marpig doesnt have a laptop to do so and poor memory Marpig just cant rem the next instance wat shez been rattling on bout. Currently, Marpig will "jot" down notes on the mobile so tt she can rem wat to blog the next time she can afford the time. Did thought of getting a PDA to do offline blogging... had it but dumped it. Cos itz so wols just using tt stylus to point point point!! A blackberry... hmmm... best is smth like a miniature laptop where Marpig can type and then save the file and upload it to computer. Really, any suggestions?! Think XT can give sm suggestion on this right? :P

Marpig am always so proud of her hair cos quoting hair stylists in saloons, Marpigz hair is "virgin hair" cos Marpig never dye or rebond or etc with it. And, when Balachan (new character!! Oink (as opposed to nay), just a sec sch fren of Marpig) had her white hair since sec sch, Marpig laughed!! (how bad!! but she doesnt mind) Have also seen other frens getting the occasional white strand of hair but never Marpig. Guess wat, u r right!! Marpig discovered a strand of white hair just yesdae on the left middle part of Marpigz head!! This is bad, this is bad!! How can Marpig have white hair?!?!?!??!?

Have plucked it out and kept it in Marpigz glasses box... why? ... Dont noe. ARGH!! *panicking* WHITE HAIR!!
3) U Turns & Roundabouts
Pple all noe tt UK ang mohs do ths wolsly. Why? On Grocery Day, Marpig was taking bus home and it suddenly dawned on Marpig the reason may be manifested in the way they plan their roads. Not sure if any of u notice, there is very little U-turn signs in the UK. There are (are there?) sm but not many. But one th for sure is, there are tons of roundabouts.
U-turns: We missed a turn/exit/etc, so a u-turn is the quickest way to turn ard and get to where we initially wanted to go. Same for life, when we noe we have made a mistake/etc, turn over a new leaf or, u-turn quickly to correct ourselves.
Roundabouts: Ang mohs are funny, the roundabouts have many exits. In fact, to make a u-turn, just find a roundabout and exit at 6 o'clock. But, itz never as quick as doing a u-turn. So, they take their own sweet time to find one and make a 360 deg turn. Sooo indirect. May be ttz y ang moh tend to do ths wolsly; they like to do ths the roundabout way.

Marpigz Sisz Wedding Reception in Leeds
Food. TTz the th ttz always on Marpigz mind. Don think any person is like Marpig, who loves to eat as much as cook. Oh, she likes to take lotsa pictures of everyth too.
Last weekend went up to Uncle & Aunty up at Leeds for Marpigz sisz wedding reception!! Ok, 1 blundder, Marpig didnt bring any nice clothes at all. Just went with backpack, a pair of jeans and tees.
Marpigz sisz really changed quite alot after she got married. If she were to be like she was, noeing Marpig didnt bring any nice clothes to her wedding reception AND telling her frens no jeans allowed and here was Marpig, wearing jeans, she will almost kill Marpig.
But, on tt day, she just lament, complain and scold but not too big a hooha. hmmm...
Anyway, the wedding reception, itz just like chinese wedding dinner just tt itz held in our unclez restaurant, the guests were ang mohs (& sm chinese), therez only 2 tables & therez nth like dry ice entrance etc.
Food wise, wah~~~!! *Drools* Therez lobster, prawns, steamed seabass, chicken, pork, scallops, etc etc. Oh boy!! SO DELICIOUS!! Oh boy oh boy!! :D))
Right, moving on to wat-other-ths. Leeds is a nice place, itz gonna be the next financial hub of UK, after London, apparently. The buildings are high rise and itz quite a nice place (chinese restaurents sell gd food, better than Bristol) & therez this fish & chips place tt sells really famous fish & chips (tt Marpigz sis always go to when she was in Leeds Uni) and wat-have-u!!
Train ride from Bristol to Leeds (direct) is about 4 hours. Itz crazy... but oh well. Was in this quiet coach (train coaches) and use of mobile phones and blasting music from earpcs are not allowed (who wants to listen to wat u listen?!). Suddenly, a couple of seat in front of Marpig, an ang moh old lady scolded sm1 cos tt person was answering a call. Then 2 women started bickering and scolding each other stupid here and there... women... u cant imagine ang moh pple would do tt can u? But yes, there are humans afterall...
Wat else bout this Leeds trip... no snow cos itz Spring but weather is colder up there and it drizzles all the time!!
Oh yes, as sm of u would noe/heard bout Little Amy, shez no longer short!! Shez like almost just 3/4 head shorter than Marpig!! WOW!! Cant believe it!! Marpig need to stretch more!!
The doggies are the same, Happy still barks madly at every1 but this time Marpig am more firm and now he plays snatch and throw-n-catch with Marpig. Guess doggies really can feel who is the boss... :P *Woof*
As usual, anyth can touch Marpig/set Marpig thinking... for, there was once when Marpigz sis, Little Amy and Marpig were sitting squeezed in the stairs landing and looking intensively at a PSP; cos Little Amy is playing 3D Pacman on PSP and we were sooooooo impressed by tt black gadget!! hahahahahah
Was a nice and funny feeling...
1) No matter how old we get, there is still a child in us
2) Really felt like sisters... (Marpigz sis and Marpig seldom get to sit down and enjoy "playing") plus the fact tt we've grown up...
3) 3 generations squeezing our butts in the landing, playing/looking at PSP
Smtimes, was wondering... have Marpig lost her childhood, too early? :))
Bottomline: Marpig am not getting a PSP, but getting a Nintendo DS Lite!!

Weird Dream
Gosh!! Need to buck up on blogging!! Just got to noe tt snail has reached Beenie!! Oh, need to clarify, Beenie being my PA is indeed a compliment!! Cos Beenie used to remind Marpig alot of ths and shez so much more org!! :D) Directors? Managers? There are all arseholes... only pple who tok cock sing song become directors and managers (unless we are there, letz assume they are all arseholes :P)
This should be bloggied a long time ago but these few weeks Marpig have been sooooo busy with work tt she doesnt have the time to actually blog!! So, Sunday aftern, in office, blogging!!
1st th 1st, just wanted to blog bout a weird dream tt Marpig had last 2 weeks ago. In summary, Marpig dream of the 1st time she packed her lugg to go UK, this time, frantically as Marpig am flying off at 930pm but still at home packing at 9pm. Scaring. Then don noe wat happen, saw sec sch frens, including hockey mates. And don noe wat happen, was whisked into a Mac and wanted to buy a Mac toy but sold out.
Then, dreamt bout the 1st time Marpig set foot on foreign soil 13 hours away on a plane, alone. Itz like history repeating itself... hmmm... anyway, Marpig am bored blogging this... need to spice it up again... Will talk bout smth of value next.
