As promised in the previous bloggie entry, Marpig shal blog bout her trip home last Nov, before she goes back again in June!!
WAIT!! Shez been home and back to the Grey Island now!! OMG!! More backlogs!! Cepat!!
Right then, marathon blogging shal begin!! Since Balachan commented tt the previous entry wasnt 火辣辣, Marpigz gonna put this pic up for her!!
Marpig wanted to "kiss" Balachan in front of the camera, however, she ended up bursting out in fits of laughter (& blowing at Balachanz face!!) :D

a) TT Stretch of Road
1 of the highlights & must-do of Marpigz return is cycling along TT Stretch of Road. This time, she did it with the other 2 piggies (Shanny & Sexy Lady)
Pitstop at Bedok jetty!! Saw a would-soon-be-sun-dried small fishie and as usual, Marpig decided to do justice for the camera!!
Another pitstop just b4 entering Marpigz fav part of TT Stretch of Road (lomantic row of Casuarina trees) when Corn rang Marpig!! (Noticed Marpig was on her mobile)
b) Comic
1 of the many daes, Marpig met up with PS. Think they went to make new ICs (bcos they had both past tt mandatory AGE for new ones)
Whilst waiting for their ICs to be ready for collection, they went to one of Marpigz fav hunts down at Kino for sm comic books!!
Got a Snoopy magazine (not a comic) since the latest Angel Heart by Hojo Tsukasa (City Hunter, Rash!!, F. Compo) was not out yet. As for the 新百鸟丽子 (left) which Marpig has been searching for the past 15 yrs (yup!!), she found it in HK!! At one of those comic shops in the shopping centre where they sell al ths computer and toy/miniature figurines!! As itz second hand (or perhaps more) and a very very old comic title, Marpig managed to get it for 20HKD!! TTz less than 2 quid or 4 SGD!! Hooray!! Too bad they do not have the 1st series, 百鸟丽子. But, to be able to find it after 15 yrs is a miracle!!
***Digression***
Ah... Therez stil a few comic titles which Marpig am stil looking for the past 15+ yrs. 庆幸的是 she managed to find sm of them like 新百鸟丽子 and 一磅的福音 which were 绝版, even in Taiwan where the mandarin version were 1st published. FYI, the other titles which Marpig stil 穷追不舍 are 幽游白书 and 倾国怨伶
c) The ASBS Guy at The Line
Moving on, Marpig, fam and relatives went to The Line for dinner buffet. Was good quality and quantity, although the buffets at Hotel Continental/Shangri La in HK are slightly better... hmmm
Anyw, was taking a break ready for the 2nd round when Marpig spotted a guy who ASBS!! Mayb he felt cool leaning at the food counter and texting but itz absolutely 恶 umk!! Yo dude, yr pose is not cool!! Xcuse me cos pple want to get curry and prata!! If u wanna text and act cool, pls go find yrself a corner!! :S
d) Seafd Galore with Beenie
As it was, itz always nice meeting up with Beenie, since shez also one of Marpigz crazy khaki who dont mind doing absurd ths with Marpig (when they were younger?!) Hahahaha
Much like a pic str out from a food mag, gluttony Marpig and Beenie had the following at Seafd Paradise @ 1 Defu Lane:
100g 咸蛋螃蟹 (S$40.80), 炸馒头 (S$1), 海鲜沙煲焖伊面 (S$14), 主题日咸蛋虾球 (S$16.80), 三皇蛋觅菜苗 (S$14.90) and washing everyth down with 中国茶 (S$2)!! Alot of fd and alot of 蛋!! Everyth is so scrumptious!! Beenie!! Shal we have it again?! Yummy!! 真的是Beenie 好介绍!! Belly gd!! :D
e) Another 伟大的 Breast Feeding 妈妈 (OMG!! Itz Ah 莲!!)
One of the many afterns, both Corn and Marpig went to Jurong to meet up with Shu for dim sum lunch, b4 walking her back to her office for work. After dim sum, they visited the stil-in-confinement Lian and her bbb at her plc!! So wat happened when you have Corn, Lian and Marpig together? Craziness perhaps. They were yakking away xcitedly, catching up on one anotherz life, playing with bb and posing for pics!!
Think the above pic is an abs classic; classic Lianz peace sign, classic Lianz smile, classic breast feeding with style!!
f) Popcorn
After dim sum lunch with Shu, visited Lian, itz bout time to meet up with JM for dinner (busy bees!!) However, Corn need to get sm popcorn and it was then tt Marpig got to noe tt therez such th as "gourmet popcorn" ttz selling at an absurd price. Having tried the samples, Marpigz opinion was tt the popcorn were the same as those in the cinemas in the UK. Not sure if itz the same kind of popcorn one can get in the cinemas in Singapore, since Marpig never tried those. But gosh, therez really nth so special bout the Garrett popcorns and really, one is paying for the publicity and packaging. XTz sis would noe, itz marketing and branding
g) Table-full of Food for Dinner-for-3
And so, Marpig met up with JM (Corn went to do sm errands and joined later) for dinner at the gd chicken rice shop near Bugis. Cant rem the street name (JM, where is it again?) They had chicken rice AND 5 other dishes which included asparagus, 番薯叶, cereal prawns, 铁板豆腐 and deep fried chicken fillets. Biangz, super 饱 after tt but very 满足!! (^_^)
h) Angry Bird Board Game and Galloping Pigs -- Gathering without Sansao
Prior to meeting with XT, MW and Marpig had lunch at the mall in Tampines (which one was it?) Was a highly recommended plc by MW and indeed, the quality of fd is gd!! Especially the yee-fu noodles!! :D__
Umk, think the annual German Bridge tournament didnt happen last Nov. Cos Sansao cant make it since Zhirui was having fever. But, XT did introduce the China version of Angry Bird (board game!!) to MW and Marpig. Was a very simple game although quite dry after a few rounds. Marpig also brought the Galloping Pigs which were given to her by XT the yr b4 as bdae present. Was quite ok. Wil be more fun if Marpig didnt lose every. single. round. Hahahhaha They also played with cute leetle Freya, despite she was sleeping most of the time. Mayb this June Marpig can carry and play with her cos shez bigger!! (In retrospec now, she stil didnt get to carry Freya, more details much later)
Another highlight of the gathering @ MWz was the black bean soup with pork MWz MIL cooked!! Ah~~ it had been sooooooo many yrs since Marpig drank this which Marpigz mom used to cook!! *回味当年~~* 太好喝了!!
i) More Food!!
Other than sashimi, 1 of Marpigz fav food she would normally order in the absence of sashimi is Chirashizushi!! It does look abit like puke for sm but itz delicious!! :D__
j) Birds of a Feather, Flock Together
The Leetle Red Dot 不止人多, 鸟也多. Was shopping with sisz and BIL at Taka. When Marpig went out from the Swatch counter, she was nearly driven mad by the loud screeching of crows!! Gosh!! See wat rapid urbanisation did to nature; drove them to live among Orchard Rd :( Poor animals
k) Auntiez Home Cooked Makan is the Best!!
Thanks to Marpigz aunt, Marpig and everyone have 口福!! Therez Hokkein noodles, roast chicken and Marpigz fav 海参焖冬菇 with 密制 chilli!! :D__
l) Biangz!! Since When Did...?!
Marpig cant rem if there was such an advert b4... even if there was in the history of the Leetle Red Dot, it must have been in the early 70s or 80s. Gosh, the advert is so obviously targeted at the PRC more than Singaporeans for 2 screaming-at-yr-face signs; al of them chinese + al hail to 毛主席... ...
m) Even the Aunties Find It Disturbing
While Marpig was waiting to catch a bus to Clementi to meet up with Gemz mom, she noticed a PRC donning a winter coat beneath sm "thin" top. No wonder everyone was looking at her, since itz really too hot at average 36 degC and 95% RH!!
n) Finally, Mahjong Set from HK
Rem Marpig spent a fortune on miniature toys back in May 2011 in HK? Umk, u dont. No matter. She placed an order for a teeny weeny mahjong set which Gemz had kindly collected and passed to her mom so tt she may in turn, pass to Marpig. A leetle confusing, but there is the teeny weeny mahjong tiles and the retro tables and chairs!! :D
o)Bus Ride Home with 泡泡茶 from Koi
After bidding farewel to Gemz mom, Marpig took smtime to walk around the Clementi she once knew which was given a facelift; the interchange is different and therez a shopping centre too. Gosh... was Marpig away for too long or was it bcos Singapore changed too quickly in a short span of time?
Anyway, Marpig bought Koi bubble tea (need to Q!!) and took 147 home. Ah~~ just love long bus rides. Smtimes frens looked at Marpig in bewilderment when she told them she loves taking long bus rides instead of the MRT from pt A to pt B. Therez many reasons and 八九不离十, the reasons are to do with Marpigz mom, other memories and the enjoyment one gets from watching the world passes by :)
p) Sashimiiiiiii~~
In the UK, ths tt are considered xotic, wil be xxxpensive. The reverse is true where Magnum ice cream is 5 times more xpensive in Singapore than in the UK!! Hence, whenever Marpigz home, she wil definitely stuff herself silly with sashimi!!
This time, it is PS 好介绍 for Japanese buffet at Irodori Jap rest in River View Hotel!!
JM has also recommended nearby Ikoi Jap rest in Miramar Hotel, must try it next time!!
q) Time to Go Back to The Grey Island
As always, Marpig took the morning 1st flight back to the Grey Island alone, after Marpigz dad send her to the airport, since Marpigz sis and BIL always return a dae later than Marpig. Perhaps itz the wee morning and less pple, the salesgal at SK was trying out the rings on her fingers... hmmm... is tt allowed? Ho hum
As Marpig was really early and feeling bluey gluey, she sat facing the rising warm sun while massaging her ankles with the Osim chairs ttz littered around
And yeah, Marpigz got Piggie with her at al times while shez travelling!!
FINALLY!!
For watever reasons (think itz bcos Marpig wanted to see 叶老师), Marpig had tea with Marpigz sisz frens, al of whom were Marpigz senior in STC!!
