Fairy Tales *Solemnly*

Been suffering from insomia... went to read fav Wikipedia again... went to search for random articles and found smth with Hans-... so tot of Hans Christain Anderson... was thinking... "not bad... read smth nice to relax" but who noes... melancholy Marpig surfaced again...

Fairy tales... wat 1st impression does it gives all of us? Comfort? Childhood memories? Sadness? Happiness? Jokes? Smth light-hearted?

To Marpig, fairy tales are smth mixed... they did give some comfort to Marpig when young... *sad smile* Marpigz mom did read some fairy tales to Marpig... or at least, bought some Lady Bird fairy tales books for Marpig to read... love those nice illustration... especially Lady Bird books... if Marpig didnt remem wrongly... Marpigz mom bought Rapunzel and The Elves and the Shoemaker... maybe somemore... but just cant remem all... but then... Marpig loves the stories tt Marpigz mom told Marpig... not those famous ones but those she made up on her own...

*sad smile* Marpig used to bug Marpigz mom to tell bedtime stories... to the extend Marpigz mom has got no more stories but to start with "Long long time ago, there was a naughty gal..." apparently... tt naughty gal is Marpig... :) then Marpig will laugh and goes bed... still rem 2 stories Marpigz mom told Marpig... though the 2nd one is a bit vague and 4got the ending... trying very hard to recall but just cant... also love to listen to Marpigz mom childhood memories... she always tells Marpig the same old thing though...

Coming back to fairy tales... realised they are all pretty dark... as in... they always teaches us a lesson... may be Disney or other companies retold the stories in a much fanciful manner tt most pple no longer see the lessons in them but how nice the graphics are, or how beautiful or kind a the mermaid or princesses are...

Marpigz fav fairy tales are The Little Girl and The Red Shoes... many of u might noe bout The Little Match Girl but wat bout The Red Shoes? By childrenz std, these stories are pretty dark... but nice...

Marpig rem watching a very old cartoon of Little Match Girl in one of the Xmas Day long long long time ago... as a very young child... Marpig cried throughout the whole short cartoon... especially so when the girl passed away... guess when Marpig was young, Marpig was already quite a melancholy person... hmm...

Suddenly tot of Edgar Allen Poe... cos Marpigz personality do have smth similar to his... anyway, liked his stories too... very dark and mysterious too... mystic...

Must find and buy EC Comics!! Tales from the Crypt, Vault of Horror and Haunt of Fear!! Marpig wonder when will she finds them all... itz worst than treasure hunting...
