Cambridge and Oxford Boating Competition

Realised Marpigz memory are getting... worse? Quite short term memories now... smtimes Marpig wanted to do smth but will 4get them the next moment... Worse, even if Marpig were to make a note of them in the new trusty mobile, she will 4get to read wat she needs to get done...

Had a so-so wkend... actually, could have been a great wkend... but... sigh...

Grocery Day Marpig went to London with a colleague and his niece. Both are CBC (china born chinese, do rem abbrev.) Nice pple to noe... guess itz diff kind/class of CBCs? Why London again? Marpig am gonna watch the annual Oxford/Cambridge Boating Competition!! Marpig wanna see how snobbish these 2 universities are... :P

Started the dae early bout 9ish... drove all the way to greater London to park the car (as itz madness to drive in central London) and took the Tube to meet up with Marpigz sis and BIL.
But only managed to get to central London ard 2... gosh... was a long dae travelling... but still ok lah...

Fast 4wrd to the competition... hmmm... is it or it is a tradition tt the Brits get hook on alcohol ever since young? There tons of pple, all drinking beer like itz water along (part) of the River Thames... Gosh. Wat is so nice bout the bitter beer? *buffled*

The starting line!!

Anyh, there were lotsa of pple and students of both uni wearing their uni scarf. Sm very old men, guess they were once x-students were cheering on their own uni. :)

Overheads, there were a few helis, guess they are capturing the aerial views for BBC and other papers and safety?

Wat was interesting was when the teams had the boats out... gosh... itz like the 4 Heavenly Kings (outdated liao) live on stage!! Pple were cheering on the teams and even had to get the help of the Royal Navy to cordone off the slope along the River Thames for the teams to launch the boat.

Was at the starting line to soak in the mood but yeah, it started to drizzle fizzle...
So, Marpig & colleague, colleaguez wife and niece quickly took sm pictures and ciao to the finishing line, on foot. Was thinking taking Tube from start to fin will take more than 1/2 hr hence all of us took to the foot.

Along the way, the rain got heavier but there were still many pple along the river as well as poor doggies whose tails are down in the mud... *owwwww~~~*

Felt like trekking in malaysia where the road are all muddy and rain beats down and seems like 4ever but!! Marpig am so happy!! hahahahahaha can see how she misses getting all sweaty in malaysia!! watever.

And so, bcos of the weather and didnt noe itz such a long way to walk (bout 3+ miles?) Marpig & others didnt manage to get to the fin line on time to see the teams row in. But on the way, saw them row by with many many life boats etc behind!! Majiam like filming James Bond movie!! Kao, the Brits are really wayang!! hahahahahahhaha
