*BEAMING All Over & Just Cant Stop Smiling!!*
*BEAMING*
Marpig received her 100+ quid worth of Playmobil~~!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!! Oh boy!! Oh boy!! So xxxciting!!
Why does Marpig like Playmobil? Well, Marpig played with it since she was pre-kindergarten!! Used to have a horsie, a few pple, sm hats, etc and gosh!! Other than Lego, Marpigz next favourite toy(bcos itz got so much memories attached to it) is Playmobil!! (NOT Barbies or Kens if ttz wat u r thinking, XT!! :P) But heu, seems like Singapore don sell them anym and itz pretty hard to get it elsewhere XCEPT in HK!! In fact, the next time when Marpig saw it again after she "grew up" was when she went to HK and spotted a shop tt sells lotsa Playmobil!! (Guess itz one of the Asian distributors)
Anyw, Marpig went online to find Playmobil and gosh!! The power of online shopping!! One could buy it online!! Yeah!! Though think it only accepts orders or deliveries to countries stated on their websites.
So, made a shopping list and went mad with it!! Bought so many of them!! Got smth for Marigz dad (a policeman on a motorbike, suit him to the core!!), smth for JM and alot of ths for Marpig!!
All the toys arrived in a BEEG box roughly the size of a single personz armchair!!

*In cute cartoony voice* Therez Santa Claus with a football and teddy-bear-in-a-sack, therez 黑白大盗 in their black sports car, therez a to-be-assembled Ferrari sports car as well as divers and sea creatures on top of the gifts for Marpigz dad and JM!! *beaming over and over again* :D Gosh!! Gonna take time to play with them all!!
Been dropping lotsa hints to make JM feels 102% xxxcited (JM and Marpig gonna meet in Espana in July) Told her will bring it to Espana in Marpigz backpack but after Marpig saw the physical size of it, itz impossible for Marpig to bring it to Espana, lest JM to stuff it inside her push-lugg!! So, to further 吊 JMz 胃口, Marpig told her she now got to wait until end of sept when Marpig goes home!! :P

Amsterjam: Arrival & General Sights
Itz time to~~~ jam!! Amsterjam!! :P Finally moving onto Amsterdam (though Amsterjam sounds more lively) B4 enjoying the sights of Amsterjam, a leetle bit bout the city itself as usual
Amsterjam is the capital and largest city of the Netherlands and is/was apparently a rich country. It was once the wealthiest city in the world (17th century tt is). Her merchants had the largest share in the Dutch West India Company (as opposed to the British East India Company) Also, it bcame the worldz 1st stock xchange to trade in itz own shares in 1602. Indeed, the Amsterdam Commodities Exchange (shown below) built by the "Father of Modern architecture" (Netherlands) proved it
However, stocks and shares doesnt always make one rich overnight (Letz not go into Soros) and the 2 faces of the clock tower gave caveats into shares trading with these 2 sayings:
"Duur Uw Uur" = "Await Your Hour"
"Beidt Uw Tyd" = "Bide Your Time"
Essentially, shares trading is bout buying at the right time!! (Letz not go into Soros again)
Geographically, the city is shaped like a horseshoe; a semicircle (radius approx. 2km) with the Central Train Station at itz apex. All ths touristy are within this 2km semicircle & hence, much of the entire place are never visited by tourists (cos we noe naught where to venture) There are 5 concentric canals xpanding outwrds from the centre and they are, the Singel, the Herengracht, the Keizersgracht, the Prinsengracht, and the Singelgracht (Look at any map of Amsterjam; Marpig too lazy to upload :P)
The Damrak is the main street where the Dam Square is and leads to the Rokin street. Every1 would be interested to noe tt the oldest area of the city is de Wallen, which housed the famous red light district!! (Steamy photographs will follow!! Lookout!! *sizzle sizzle*)
Finally, b4 going onto more pics, the name Amsterdam was derived from the Amstel dam, a dam in the river Amstel where it used to be a fishing village (just like Singapore!!)
Next up, are pics taken when Marpig arrived in Amsterjam and some general sights on the 1st dae of Marpigz short tour of the city
Central train station. Marpig took a flight from Bristol but like all cities, would still need to get the train from the airport into the city. The pic below was taken during the morning sun (not sunset) at 1 of the platforms at the train station. Light at the end of the "tunnel"...
Schiphol airport in Amsterjam!! Hmmm pic looks gd enough to be in one of those magazine... (Marpig really did think of becoming a journalist and/or photographer these daes)

The river Amstel with the boats for river cruises... reminds one of Clarke and/or Boat Quay
Every city must have a tourist bus tt brings tourists 游花园. Wow... 海陆空. Amsterjam has everyth!!
Cant rem which is which river. But the pics above bear uncanny resemblance to Venice!!
This IS Amsterjam... where booze and sex rule!!
The National Monument (the tall obelisk, not the lion :P) of Amsterjam. Herez a closer look at it in the evening:
One of the many streets in the city. Much like Manchester, therez tram for fume-free public transport. This street leads to the Dam Square
(Notice the pics switch btw day and night) When Marpig was there, therez a funfair in the Dam Square. Guess itz bcos itz sch hols then (Oct-ish) In the middle is the Royal Palace. Once again, thought it looked smwat like the Grand Place aka Grote Markt in Brussels (refer to old bloggie entries) Smth caught Marpigz eyes on top of the Royal Palace...

On the left of the Royal Palace is Madam Tussuadz. Didnt go in since it would be too xpensive and hey, therez too many Madam Tussaudz ard, showing the same wax figures (xcept for the one in HK which has LKY!!)

which was used for royal coronations. Now, itz used mainly as an xhibition centre
After walking ard since touching down in Amsterjam, itz time to makan!! Therez a fast food chain in Amsterjam which Marpig highly recommend!!
Febo!! Very famous and popular fast food chain in Amsterjam. Why?
Not only does it sell great nibbles like fried chicken, hotdogs, croquette, it also does the wicked fries with mayonnaise!! Plus, one buy the food in a vending machine style. Who says one cannot play with their food? :P
Then therez also the chinese-in-a-box type of meals which Marpig & fren bought. However, itz portion is small for the price paid
Therez also other local thingy to try such as all sort of fish dishes (since Amsterjam is near the sea) Although local, they arent too adventurous. Marpig did try a fish snack with tartar sauce bcos the vendor said itz nice (骗 tourist 的话 but Marpig am willing to 被骗!! 真是的!! :P)
It tasted all right though Marpig wont buy it again as compared to fries with mayonnaise :D)
And so, Marpigz 1st dae in Amsterjam ended and itz time to rest in the dorm...

2 Lifez Staples
It has been a long time (actually, bout 1+ week?) since Marpig blog. Been busy with time passing, planning trips and working. Not tt Marpig has lost interest in blogging but guess with less hits and comments, who are Marpig blogging for?
Come to think of it, itz been almost 4 yrs (come this Aug) since Marpig keeps blog going with 770+ entries spanning all these yrs. Blog started as a record for all tt Marpig was to xperience during tt 1 yr masters. Didnt realise it now contains all ttz happened throughout 4 yrs!! Guess this blog has evolved into more or less like Marpigz another diary and travel journal
Anyw, smth Marpig need to blog bout (so tt she doesnt 4get in the future when shez old :P) is bout the 2 lifez staples. As Marpig mentioned b4 (did she?) itz a great feeling chatting to Marpigz sis over the telephone and msn. Really love these times when both could chat and laugh bout ths as well as using crazy emoticons!! Albeit Marpigz sis not being the listener, since Marpig is too gd at tt. Hence, Marpigz sis still didnt understand and/or see the real Marpig
But itz kinda 安慰 to noe tt she noes Marpig likes scuba diving, taking pictures, eats alot, play games, buy toys, read comics... *thinking* But ttz how Marpig am widely known as anyw!! However, guess being understood by family members is very impt to Marpig
Oh, coming back to the point, wat are the 2 lifez staples shared by both Marpig and Marpigz sis? After a hilarious telephone conversation with Marpigz sis, the answers are found within:
Marpig: I want to 减肥!!
Marpigz sis: 减肥?! The laziest yet most effective way to 减肥 is to eat salad in the aftern, not eat too much dinner and not eat rice for 2 weeks!!
Marpig: Wat?! Eat salad and no rice for 2 weeks?! You noe Marpig is a 饭桶!! She cant live without rice!!
Marpigz sis: Hmm... true, I can understand the 痛苦 of not eating rice ahahahahahaha!!
Marpig: ahahahahahahaha!! Marpig not eating rice is like you not having 凤油!!
Marpigz sis: Agree!! You noe for the period of Lent, Catholics are supposed to (try to) give up a vice for 40 daes right?
Marpig: Yup
Marpigz sis: There was once I go without 凤油 for tt 40 daes and OMG!! After tt 40 daes, I told myself I will never do tt again!!
Marpig: wahahahahahahahaha!! Rice and 凤油 are our lifez staples!!

Great Minds Think Alike!!
Talk bout 默契!!
默契 isnt just associated with couples. In fact, any1 with any1 always has sm level of 默契!! Obviously, with sm1 like Marpig who is unique and full of impromptu 鬼主意 ttz out of this world, not alot of sane pple will noe wat Marpigz next move/idea is going to be!!
Then again (ironically), bcos Marpigz weird thinking 来来去去 are smwat the same, itz not too diff to guess wat Marpig am thinking bout!! Almost like a predictable Marpig!! OMG!! Nooooooo~~!! 这是不对的!! :P
In fact, there are already a handful of frens who have quite a high level of 默契 with Marpig!! Great minds think alike (Or maybe they have the potential to be as crazy as Marpig. Beware!! :P)
On a serious note, 默契 is also affected by whether pple get along with one another. As the saying goes, "birds of a feather, flock together" Moreover, it also depends how much frens 了解 one another. To have the ability to noe, understand and/or guess how a fren feels, thinks, reacts can actually mean quite a few ths. UNLESS, sm1 is like Marpig, who is a sensitive and intuitive Cancerian who is full of empathy!! Hohohohohoho!!
On a lighter note, herez a classic e.g. of great minds at work!!
As it is, Marpig and JM are planning their trip to Espana in July. JM, as usual, *meow~* is the Master of Procrastination (无人能比!!). Marpig and her are about to book accomo in Barcelona but JM is wols in her response and confirmation
So the story continued when Marpig sent her a link of a hotel which only had 3 rooms left on mon, requesting a confirmation on wed, latest. Then, JM replied on wed (deadline is always a gd way to encourage action!!) suggesting spending 1 more dae in Barcelona. When Marpig saw the email on wed night (rem the time diff), the hotel has only 1 room left!! Hence, despite Marpig sending a reply to JM to confirm the number of daes and dates as well as warning her of wols response leading to more xpensive accomo, she went ahead to book the last room in tt hotel at a discounted online rate regardless!!
Then, the next dae, JM replied and guess wat, JM also went to book another hotel!! ahahahahaha Herez basically wat (Marpig thought) had happened:
1) she must have went back to the link for the hotel again to check for room availability and found out therez no more rooms left!! (Cos after Marpig booked the last room, she went to double check tt there wont be anymore rooms; in case the url lied to Marpig!! :P)
2) the other hotel JM booked costs 67 euros more than the one Marpig had booked!! OMG. Total disregard to costs!! 真是大手笔!! hahahahaha
Luckily therez no cancellation charge up to 24hrs prior to the date of arrival!! :D

Nature Observing
Itz been 风平浪静 these few daes after the tender period of a project Marpig am working on... coming month has no projects... gosh... don even want to think too much. Life is more than worrying and really... the rich are still rich and the poor are poorer so... f**k it!! If the world is not fair, Marpig should learnt to care less and learn to be like boh chap others!!
The dae breaks at 330am and gets dark after 10pm. Summer will soon be here!! Just been to the Museum of National History in Cardiff, Wales. Itz quite all right & interesting, specially those traditional English shops tt Marpig read bout in Enid Blyton books!! Ah!! Then, could only imagine how the shops look like when Mr Pink Whistle or Mr Stamp-About or Mr Meddle go grocery shopping!! :D Will most probably blog bout Ms Enid Blyton soon with sm pictures :)
Anyw, as it it was, the route tt Marpig took to go to work every dae would pass by a pond with lotsa resident animals such as a heron, 3 generations of moorhens and 2 generations of wild ducks!! Ah~ so, Marpig had been ard for tt long!!
Itz really nice observing the animals going bout their life and their behaviour :D Best is to see the next generations!! Gosh, bet the lives of zoologists who spend their time observing the lives and behaviours of animals are sooooooo 逍遥自在!!
3rd generation leetle moorchick with 2nd generation moorhen. Marpig wonders... where are the 1st generation moorhens which Marpig saw last yr... if they die... where will they be "buried"? Hmmm...
Tada!! Itz a Western Tent caterpillar!! Was onher way back from grocery shopping when Marpig saw it on the ground. And so, Marpig puts her barangs down and took out her trusty mobile to take sm pics!! So irresistible!!
Caterpillars have true legs and prolegs. Prolegs are fleshy stubby legs on the caterpillars & are on the middle segment of the crawlies. For pple who have seen the Bugs' Life, Caterpillar is the cute, gluttony and fat... caterpillar :D Saw his prolegs and his shoes? *thinking* did he wear any...
Anyw, as truth be told, caterpillars do have little gripping hooks on their prolegs called "crochets" which look so much like shoes!! Huh? the pics of the hairy crawlie above are scary? Itz not very... itz cute!! As long as one doesnt go touching it. Marpig did play with harmless green, soft, smooth caterpillar while she was in sec sch, putting them on her hands and feeding them leaves!! So cute!! Very very soft and fragile!! Could even see itz blood pumping behind itz back!! Wow!!
But!! One th Marpig did was to let it go after a few daes, reason being caterpillars turn into butterflies pretty quickly & Marpig am afraid of butterflies... ... ...
Aside from nature, itz been a long weekend since itz the may bank hol again. Since Marpig hasnt been cooking and xperimenting like she used to, she decided to cook up a storm again!! Made Stilton, leek and mushroom soup which is sooooooooooo delicious!! Ingredients include potatoes, onions, leeks, Stilton blue cheese, mushrooms. Marpig prepared and cooked it within 1.5 hrs!! Not a bad record considering one has to chop the ingredients, boiled the potatoes, peel and mashed them. Yumyumyum!!

小叮当的结局是什么?
Was reading CNA again and realised bcos of copyright issues, MOE hasnt published this yrz TYS. Wat is TYS?! How can any Singaporean not noe wat it is?! Itz TEN YEAR SERIES!! Oh boy!! TYS!! Every studentz life and death!! Marpig and fellow frens worked on TYS more than anyth!!
Really miss those "horrible" daes where all of us work out all the questions in the TYS. Marpig loved doing them (specially when one could ans the questions) Not sure bout others but normally Marpig will find out those questions she doesnt noe how to do. But of cos, there are sm "funny" questions tt therez no ans given at the back or no1 noes how to ans. In these cases, Marpigz reaction would be to 4go the marks IF the particular question comes out in the xams!! Bet quite alot of pple were like tt?
Coming to the bloggie entryz title, maybe sm of u noes the ans. Maybe sm of u cant be bothered. Maybe sm of u are curious. Gosh... to think tt Marpig loves comics and 小叮当 but didnt noe the 结局!! 这是不对的!!
Right, in case Marpig might 4get or she may have Alzheimerz disease later in old age, herez (1 of ) the 结局 for 小叮当!!
话说小叮当z batteryz gone flat & he cannot move. As he is from the 未来世界, therez no batt during 大雄z era tt can work in him. So sad!! 大雄没有了小叮当这个好朋友 and so he was really devastated!! And so, 大雄发奋图强, study really hard and finally bcame a brilliant scientist. He invented a batt which can be used on 小叮当 and so!! He revived 小叮当!! Guess wat was the 1st th 小叮当 said to 大雄 after he woke up?
Ans to be revealed on 30th May!! Unless sm1 cleber enough to come up with the ans!!
