This is bad news
Marpig realised her craving of fd is no longer as intense!! Why?! In fact, she craves for fd more when she is thinking bout them back in the UK!! Now tt she really get to eat the fd she craves just by thinking, she doesnt derives much happiness...
Could it be tt Marpig has been eating too much in a short span of time? But she used to do tt last time and she was happy...
Now, Marpig eats and feels happy but tt happiness doesnt last long... seems just like smoking a fag... happiness is short-lived. She needs to eat more and more to be happy for an xtended period of time... OMG Food and eating have smwat bcame like a drug tt Marpig must increase in quantity to be as happy as she used to!!
No... the root of it all is actually...
Marpig am seeking comfort fd... fd tt lets Marpig feels tt this is home... this is unique to Singapore... this is where Marpig grew up with... In addition, Marpig realised, it doesnt matter wat she eats, itz the pple she eats with...
With the recent doubts bout fitting back home, bout Marpigz dad, bout alot of ths tt arent there anymore... Marpig am caught up with reality and the fact tt she can no longer assume (stubbornly and deliberately) tt ths/pple in her memories do not change via the passage of time...
Hate it... Marpig just hate to face up to reality... if only Marpig arent tt clever to understand the root causes of ths... if she is a much simpler person who cannot think and reason... maybe... would she goes through life easier...?

Guilty Bout Mobile Phones
Once again, Marpig am thinking too much...
Her "newly" upgraded Sony Ericsson mobile K850i was all right until it started to stop charging, hanged on itself, shut down on itz own. As a sovereign consumer, Marpig wrote in to O2 and told them the situation all all the inconveniences, etc. Wat followed is a new Sony Ericsson C902. Marpig was also asked to return the faulty mobile phone to O2 within XX daes, otherwise risking to pay 50 quid
Chatting to colleague, Marpig asked the question, y do O2 want the faulty mobile back? (It had been repaired twice but still faulty) Colleague was suggesting maybe O2 want to recycle the mobile... but, having worked previously in a mfging industry for providing circuits for mobile phones, Marpig knew too well recycling mobile phones is not cost effective (yet?)
And of cos, like used cars in Singapore, most probably all the faulty mobile phones or those tt pple dont like anymore are being sold to 3rd world countries
Imagine the sheer happiness and contentment pple in the 3rd world country have on their faces when they have our "rags" for clothes... mobile phones we don like anymore or are faulty? They will be even more happy!!

This Time
Maybe everyone thought tt Marpig am not going to write/update her blog once she is home... well, she is doing it now...
This yr Marpig did not smile when the plane td... there is a tinge of dread for coming back...
Marpig am finding it more and more diff to revert back to the mentality of the locals since most pple seem to be thinking bout ths superficially. Other issues are tt the young generations now are so shitty... they simply "eat rice but do not noe rice is xpensive" And Marpig thought itz only the westerners who are like tt... Teenage sex/pregnancy? TTz far too common in the UK. So itz here too
Every1 seems to be rushing bout... Marpig am strolling amongst them... guess itz bcos Marpig am back for hols so see no reason for rushing bout like them... yet, therez much to do but Marpig am lazing most of the time too
So many ths changed in such a short time... only 10 months and it seems like 5 yrs!! For instance, on the dae Marpig td, she wanted to get an ice lemon tea. So she gave SGD2 to fren to help her get the drink while she went to the loo. But fren told her (off) saying, "what do u think u can buy with S$2 now?" So, even McDz small coke costs S$1.90...
Everyth is just so xpensive now... or is it bcos Marpig am just ignorant? Yeah, yeh, inflation... but didnt noe itz this terrible
Went to view a couple of pte properties and even houses in the UK is 1/2 the price here!! OMG. Sets Marpig thinking... should she really retire back home...?
A couple of frens reminded/asked Marpig the same question; when are u coming back (for good)? Marpig didnt noe wat to say bcos she no longer noes the ans but frens reminded Marpig tt she once told them she will be away for 5 yrs, get her CEng and come back... so... ttz wat Marpig used to think and say...
Reason being tt time, Marpig still have her father, so she wanted to go back home... now, Marpigz dad dont need his daughters and hence, Marpig has no more reason to come back... for wat? Even frens are often too busy
Sigh... guess Marpig am destined to wander from place to place. A permanent cosy barn? Sigh... if property prices are not tt high...
Watever... Marpig am weary... physically though not sure if she is mentally. Marpig am happy to meet up with frens and makan... but somehow... although she is so xxxcited bout makan... deep down she when she is home, she isnt... In fact, it is quite scary tt Marpig actually want to go back to the UK to her rented cosy barn 3, staying alone, lazing and doing watever she likes and to go back to the office to continue working... shit...
2008 IS A BAD YEAR. Dont ever believe tt the number 8 is lucky bcos it isnt.

Blur as a Sotong
Itz not the 1st time, itz not the 2nd time and it most probably wont be the last time!!
Gosh... if Marpig was to ask frens wat is one of the unique th bout Marpig, they will (definitely) say she is as blur as a sotong!!
4get bout ages ago & all the bluriness of Marpig. Just this yr Feb, she went to the wrong departure gate for her flight back to the UK!! Hmm... and as Beenie will noe too well, Marpig tend to lost her way in big carparks and cant rem where she had parked the car...
Then, just 2 daes ago, she got the date shez gonna td Singapore wrong!! Hmm...
So, itz bout fire fighting the myriad of appointments and plans but luckily, everyth is a-ok!! :D
Was just describing to Beenie bout Marpigz perilous journey home which consisted of no less than:
1) 30mins car ride to bus station
2) 2.5 hours coach ride to LHR
3) 13 hours flight on Jumbo Mumbo
4) 30 - 45mins MRT ride back to home
And itz funny Marpig don tend to sleep on planes. She got to deliberately make herself tired the day b4 so tt she can at least dozed off for a few hours on the plane... gosh.
Anyw, just a few more hours and Marpig am going to start the perilous journey!! Ooo~~

Beauty & the Beast
First watched this Disney's classic in a cinema with Marpigz mom back in 1991 (when Marpig was only XX old!!) It was the only movie tt Marpigz mom brought Marpig to watch in the cinema...
Of cos, every year during Childrenz Day, Marpigz momz will celebrate (cant rem wat she did though...) & therez always a Childrenz Party in Marpigz momz hotel which she worked in & which Marpig will always go :)
First read the story in Marpigz sisterz big book of fairy tales & it was one of Marpigz fav stories :) Then, watched the movie with Marpigz mom, bought the LD (laser disc, those BEEG ones; were popular last time) and continued to watch the animated film over & over & over again!! So much so Marpig could sing the songs!!
Today, Marpig went to Toy R'Us to help Gin buy a toy for Ginz nephew... saw alot of toys (specially Lego!!) tt Marpig so want to get them!! But... no lollies... oh well... then, ciao to the theatre to catch the Beauty & the Beast musical matinee
Songs and scenes were very much like in the animated film!! And Lumiere has got real fires on both hands for the "candlelights"!! All the characters were very well "propped up", just like the film!!
Alot of children and their parents went to the musical; sm little gals even donned on the "Disney princesses" dresses!! :D so cute!!
Marpig was sitting amongst them, alone, only chinese as well. But didnt really bothered. But Marpig am sad (tearing on sm occasions during the musical, in the dark of cos!!) bcos she remembered the one and only time she saw the film with Marpigz mom... tt if only Marpigz mom is still alive, can watch it together with her... sigh...
Overall, itz a significant musical for Marpig as well as a gd musical. For pple who said The Lion King has very good props, well, this one has it too!! Marpigz specially likes the Wardrobe :D The Beast looks very much like in the film too!! So handsome when he is ugly~ :D
Bellez yellow dress was fantastic!! Even Chip & Mrs Potts!! Best and most handsome is the guy playing Lumiere. He really played the role well!! Cogsworth is cute too!!
Marpig did teared bcos itz so touching too... therez also fireworks (e.g., during the scene "Be Our Guest") to mimic Champagne popping!! :D
Gaston was also very much like the one in the film!! hahahaha Pple went "oooo~~", "ah~~" etc!! Very entertaining musical with participating audiences :)
After so many yrs... Marpig still wants to remind as a child... and yes, Marpig must go to the Disneyland in the States!! The last one to go!! Marpigz fav place where she can smile all day long, rush about all attractions, play and eat like a child!! So xxxciting just thinkin bout it!!
In fact, Marpig am already planning where to go for 2009z Xmas!! Meanwhile, guess will acquire all the Disney classics first!! Tsk.

Mummy
Started to pack... opened the lugg and saw the Snoopy notebook which Marpig bought and wrote in it whenever she wanted to "speak" to her
Started writing in it in 2001... cant believe it has been 7, no, going to 8 yrs now... the last entry in the book was in April 2007...
Took the book, took the old sec 4 grad photo with her (& a few photos of her and Marpig)... how? the photo is abit damaged!! How?! Was looking at the photos and her ring... Marpig started to sigh deeply... still have tt feeling of lost and yearning to hold her hands again and to talk to her... listen to her voice... memories started flooding back...
Her bones... her ashes... the hospital & her screams/shout/voice b4 she drew her last breath behind the curtain... the blank daes and months after she left... cant even rem wat Marpig was doing during tt period of time. Only rem crying and looking over the old photo albums in her room sigh...
Marpig thought she wouldnt cry again but she is crying again... wanted to read wat she wrote to her in the book over the yrs... but am afraid of going through the yrs when Marpig is trying to get over the lost...
Maybe Beenie & Ding didnt notice/rem but Marpig bought tt book to Cambodia and wrote in it every night to her... :)
Smhow... Marpig still misses talking to her... been so busy with everydae tt Marpig sort of numbed herself... but now tt Marpig wols down and starts licking the old wounds, everyth just started submerging Marpig again...
Wanted to tell her bout Marpigz life, bout Marpigz xperience, bout all the ths Marpig sees, Marpig does... Too bad Marpig did not take any videos of her... did not record her voice... the only response she would give Marpig would be a smile of apprehension...
Is it true tt whenever we think of the pple who left us, they will only appear in our minds, smiling silently to us? Bcos ttz how she appear in Marpigz mind OR ttz how Marpigz mind portrays her...
Smtimes, Marpig really hope to hug her and tell her 我好辛苦... 我生病了... But Marpig cant...
Sigh... In the previous entry Marpig said her time had stopped in the yr she left for the UK... actually, Marpigz time had stopped on the day she left

Looking Back in Time
Once again, itz rewinding the "tape"
Previous bloggie entry talked bout Marpig has been in the UK for 1225 daes... but, does any1 also realise this blog tt Marpig has so faithfully kept (but only a few faithful readers) is also tt old?!
Marpig did a random reading of a particular month, of a particular yr and realised wow!! Did Marpig really blog tt?! Gosh!! This will make a gd book afterall!!
In addition, Marpig has make notes of the characters and even a bit o plot for the comic which Marpig has been planning for yrs!! Hmmm... think itz time to archive some of the bloggie entries so tt Marpig could bind it into a book with nice covers and wala!! A book full of treasures!! Hmmm... next time, when Marpig has a cosy barn of her very own, she will have a dedicated room for games, toys, comic books and other books :D
Anyw, itz time to do packing of the lugg again!! Like packing for hols but packing for trips home is a BIG th since Marpig needs to make alot of decisions like wat to bring back (for gd) etc etc etc tsk.
