Flight to UK

Oops!! Pple tot Marpig has gone MIA!! Well... pretty much... itz the lazy, inefficient bug tt hits Marpig!! There isnt mosquitos in UK... haven seen one (yet?) but yar... lazy bug.

Been quite nua nua and caught up with lotsa thingy at work. Cooking, as usual, also takes up most of Marpigz time during the weekends. Need to keep up with diligence too. Then normally Marpig came home after work, cooked and have dinner, washed up and gets really nua... ooo~~~ the year of the pig!! hahahahaha

Right, suppose to blog this way way way back but drag until now!! Itz the flight back from Singapore!!

Well, nth much really. Think have blogged bout tt flight in one of the previous blog. Just tt Marpig 4got to add smth else. For tt flight, all of us didnt board the plane via the boarding bridge. Instead, there were buses bringing us to the big Boeing plane and we used the boarding ladder. Wow. 1st time lor!! Felt like sm impt person!! muahahahahah yes yes, mountain turtle!! But even the ang moh couple sitting bside Marpig were saying itz the 1st time they encounter this on SQ. Hmmm...

Then, the flight was abit delayed cos the captain (another ang moh whom Marpig chat to while we were making our way to check in. A frenly and suave middle aged pilot... wow... if only Marpig can be a pilot too!!) annouced smth wrong with the plane's wheels... The co-pilots... biangz. Lousy as anyth. No no, not tt Marpig has anyth to do with the opposite sex which Mr Calendar might readily say so, but itz the way they carried themselves. Social etiqutte. They lacked social etiquette. They might be gd future pilots but... aiya, tok bout this in another blog.

Hasnt been blogging... has been really tired... then been really lazy... no good.
Once more, Marpig noe abit more of herself everyday. :D
Right... 1st, a very brief tolk-bout on vdae.

Went out with a guy, (quite a complicated matter now) and wanted to dis-impress him by eating alot of food. Don think it worked. But luckily managed to xcuse having dinner with him by going out with... Marpigz dad and sis!!Really, as Marpig am telling Beenie, vdae is for loved ones. But tt doesnt mean bf/gf. Loved ones can be our family members or relatives or frens!! Really, as every1 noes, vdae is just another dae for pple to make $. Really, if yr gf/bf truly loves u, anydae can be a vdae.

And, it is so nice going out with Marpigz dad and sis for a simple hawker dinner at Old Airport Road. :D), especially on vdae. We called many ths like... cant rem.. but got pictures as usual!! YEAH!! heheheheheheheThen where did we go... cant rem... should have gone up Mt Faber right!! Sneakily sneaky on cheekily cheeky couples in shadowy corners hehehehehehe Imagine, a middle aged man with 2 ladies!! A bubbly plump gal and a short hair gal. Quite a yaya papaya dae for Marpigz dad lor!!
Short hair? Yes. Update. Marpig has very short hair!! Tsk. Hairdresser made a mistake. Wanted a Jap short hairdo but ended up too short and tsk. Lost all sexiness. Looks younger though!! But, OMG. Really, makes Marpig look like a b***h. Sigh. Oh well, don really 12 care much liao. Don live for others.First round of food for Marpigz dad, sis and Marpig. Ok, ttz vdae and hairdo update. Next, came 16th Feb. Cant really rem wat Marpig did. But think it went like this:

Packing lugg, had dinner with relatives, met JC classmates for a brief hour, took taxi to Sexy Ladyz hse in the middle of the night @ 1am+ and ring her doorbell in an unintentional intend to wake up the whole hse, took taxi with her to Joo Chiat for night cycling (bicycles are there)
So we did a 42.9km night cycling (minus a few km for inaccuracies of the distometer :P) Went ard Paya Lebar, Hougang, AMK, Serangoon and Serangoon Gardens was our pit stop. Wah, the famous chicken rice smells sooooo fabulously delicious!! OMG!! But, didnt buy. Wanted to lim teh and milo but ah neh boh hue us, so we walked to 7-11 and bought a BIG gulp and cup noodles. Being Marpig, she purposely paraded ax the ah neh shop slurping on her noodles. So, bite Marpig lah!!

Then both of us set off again and wanted to go MacRitchie, Novena, Orchard, Bugis to go back Joo Chiat. In the end, lost our way, went all the way pass MacRitchie, to Raffles Institute and the Bishan/Toa Payoh flyover. Duh.

Luckily we met an old couple @ 5+am(?) who, surprisingly, were doing their morning walk!! Ok. Asked directions. Finally, made it to MacRichie and Novena and after tt, Marpig am too tired to rem wat happened. But finally back to Joo Chiat @ 615am?

Dozed off a wee bit and went home, leaving Sexy Lady alone with Yont for bf. Sorry love!!

Went home on taxi (cant believe Merc taxi uncle cheat Marpig by taking longer route!! Pui!! Down with all Merc taxi uncles!!) and 打包 very nice 秀记酿豆腐 as bf for Marpigz dad, sis and BIL!! Reach home @ 7+am and had bf then sleep. Woke up @ 11+am and started transferring VCDs into new 120GB HDD. Didnt get to sleep ever since.

Evening went auntyz hse for reunion dinner (BIG nice spread of food!! Pictures as usual!!)

Then was really tired but still, didnt sleep. Then after dinner, went home @ 11+pm and biangz. CNY in Chinatown!! Right!! Marpig LOVE IT!! Missed it last yr cos of xams. Ah~~~ Itz noisy, itz smokey (cos pple 拜神 mah) but, itz where Marpig grew up, itz part of Marpig. :))

Seeing the anty pple downstairs... so funny!! Feel so yaya papaya "staying in the middle of the big hooha" (one of the many Marpigz famous and fav phrases) :P)

Wow... very nice entry this isnt it!! Full of nice pictures!! Yeah!!

And oh, Marpig went Geylang with Marpigz dad for fav Teochew Moi!! Oh boy oh boy!!

And oh!! Marpigz sis bought durians and we (Marpigz sis, BIL and Marpig) gobbled 5 durians!! In fact, it was Marpigz BIL who suggested eating durians!! So, he likes durians too!! Who say HK pple don like durians?! :D)

Crabs Galore and Void Deck 榴莲!!

Buay tahan... woke up feeling as though Marpig had gobbled 3 daes' worth of food just yesdae... Feeling 102% fulled up... to the brim of the brim... *burrrrrrrrp!!*

The previous night was as usual... pick up pple from AMK MRT station (of cos with a U-turn and miss turns) As usual also, Beenie fly aeroplane... *yanws* she has successfully entered into the fly-aeroplane club now... membership is lifetime until performance improve...

Right, so with additional few more wrong turns and U-turns, BB, Ding, Mr Calendar and Marpig finally reached AMK Ave 3, Blk 232 to eat crabs. Being the 宁可杀错不可放过 eater, Marpig suggested ordering pepper, chilli and butter crabs, to the sheer horror of BB and Mr Calendar. :D_

Lady then told us the price; 1kg = SGD35 and bigger ones are bout SGD60... considering the amt of cash all of us horde, we could only order a single big crab... :(_

NVM. So, we ordered chilli crab cos can dip fried 馒头 in the gravy. Then, still being abit crazy, Marpig also suggested ordering a plate of scallop with cashew nuts and capsicum. In the end, we ordered crab, scallop, kang kong, fried 馒头 and 4 plates of rice.

Letz now tok bout the dishes one by one.

1) The scallop with cashew comes 1st. To our (terrible) surprise, out of the plateful of ingredients like oinions, cashew nuts, capsicums and Gingko nuts, there were only a pathetic 5 small scallops!! The whole dish costs us SGD15 (!!) We didnt waste ANY. We finished everyth on the plate. The only sad th is we got to ration the 5th scallop... muahahahaha AND Marpig saved her scallop till the VERY END!! Aft everyth has been finished... Marpig "焖" the scallop in the crabz gravy... wah~~~!! 够味!! ONLY 5 pcs of scallops... Kao.

2) Kang Kong is next. Wat can Marpig say? Itz Kang Kong.3) Rice. Hmm... quite abit of teaser... we were all getting inpatient... :P_ All of us finished the rice xcept Ding cos as she said, "we need sm rice for the crab!!" :D) So BB really just saved a mouthful of rice!! BBz mouthful of rice with crab meat = crab meat sushi!!

4) Crab and 馒头 finally came!! We were all like "WOW", "WAH" "OOH~~~" hahahahahahahaMany ths happened since the arrival of the crab and yes, all our fingers including our palms were deliciously covered with gravy!! *lick lick lick, slurp*!! :D)_

The most messy (and dangerous) is BB. Simply bcos he managed 喷 gravy onto Marpig on the right and Mr Calendar on the left... Ding is being saved cos she sits in front of BB...

The silent "killer" is Mr Calendar, cos he made no sound while he slowly devoured the crab...

The demure eater is Ding, cos she doesnt seem to be eating alot and we got to force her to eat crab meat tt is filled with our love; gravy tt is being scooped onto the meat using our (licked) fingers... WOW!! :D)_

Marpig? Hmm... don noe... guess the most normal? Hmm... abit subjective... :P_

Dirk (not the real spelling of his name) came aft all the hooha subsided and when all 4 am rubbing their tummies... the crab has conquered us all...

The whole meal costs us about SGD98... hmmm...

It was almost time to leave and Marpig actually brought home the crab 壳!! Worse, the 2 gluttons wanted to have durians!! hahahahaha So, the rest boh bian. In the end, we end up at Serangoon (?) to buy SGD10 worth of durains and eat them at Hougang void deck!!

Biangz. Very typical, very traditional, very rustic, very ... don noe wat lah!! But the xperience was great!! Come on!! Who else like us will buy 榴莲 and eat in void deck in the middle of the night ard 1130pm?! hahahahahahaha

Sisz Wedding in HK!! :D)

Finally, after 7 yrs of 拍拖ing, Marpigz sis and BIL finally walked down the aisle (literally)!! It was really a hectic "holiday" for Marpigz sis, BIL and Marpig. Hasnt really sleep/rest ever since we touchdown on 1st Feb!! Ah but everyth is worth it!!

1st, therez the Singapore wedding!! The usual 迎新娘 consisting of silly tricks tt the brothers and groom need to accomplish b4 coming in. The trick played tt dae was drinking don noe how many cans of Pepsi with metre long straws (quite impossible considering the 漏风 along the straw) then it was sing song time. The groom and his brothers sang "童话" (groom don really noe how to sing though) but sisz didnt hear too so duh... Then, they sang the Jacky Cheung don noe wat song but nice lah!!

Now, moving on to sisz wedding in HK, wow!! They just have the simple tea ceremony. But itz the dinner tt is fun!!

For once, aft dressing up, itz all the way photo-taking session from 6pm - 815pm. B4 tt, guests arrived early for rounds of majong!! Yes!! Majiam like the TVB shows, pple have rooms ready for guests to play majong b4 dinner starts. Socialising and hey, itz gd brain xercise!! :P

Then Marpigz sis changed clothes 3 times for the dinner!! 1st was the traditional HK "kua" tt we see in movies. Very nice and skillful embroidery of 龙 and 凤. The 2nd gown is the white bridal gown and the last one is a red evening gown!! All were very nice and MARPIGZ SIS IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! Although Marpigz sis is slightly to the plump side, still, she is the most beautiful, followed by Marpig and maybe 2 other gals (they r models so they got the height lor... chey!! :P)

Then during the dinner, BIL went up stage and say a few words and thanked his parents... so touching... so BIL cried so did the parents... BIL also dedicated "月亮代表我的心" (sang by Leslie Cheung and they do have a KTV thingy on the screen) to his parents and very romantic Jacky Cheungz "你的名字我的姓氏"!! So Marpigz sis went onto the stage and BIL held her hand and sang!! Oooh~~~!! hahahahahaha

Hmmm... other than these... nth special... but... therez sm contrasting thingy bout wedding dinner in Singapore and HK:

1) HK relatives and frens are very passionate and really enjoyed themselves while Singaporeans seems to take wedding dinner purely as a "red bomb" meaning, they go, they pay, they eat, they go. Itz the warmth tt is diff.

2) Singaporeans have this tendency to leave b4 dessert/during dessert, citing reasons like "itz late", "got to work", "wait exit got alot of pple!!" while the HK pple really stay until everyth finished then leave.

One word says it all, itz the sincereity. Hmm... although HK pple are as rushy rushy as us, they seem to appreciate more bout the notion of work hard, play hard. But Marpig must say they are more "fierce" especially those in 茶餐厅. Otherwise, quite alot of them are really frenly too!!

So Marpigz trip to HK was really purely for the wedding cos didnt go any touristy places xcept HK Disneyland. Not too bad but smaller, rides are all similar and kiddish. Trust Marpig, Ocean Park is even nicer!! But, don 12 waste air tic so go see see look look lor... at least we noe wat it is like mah~

乳鸽!! Too bad Marpig didnt eat. Actually, Marpig ate once bout 3 yrs ago when Marpig 1st went to HK for grad trip. Quite scary cos it comes with the head and... ... letz not go into entails... oops... details... (scary cos fren said can eatthe brainy mashy thingy in the head... kao!! *puke*)

Wet market in HK. This is a seafood store and gosh!! All the food are REALLY 102% fresh!! Even fresher than those in Chinatown in Singapore!! The seafood are all alive and prawns are jumping and fishy are flipping!! Yumyumyum!! :P)

There is this xhibition in front of Time Square of piggies designed by pple and are up for bids (for donation) SO CUTE!!

Buay Tahan!! A huge walking 猪扒 walking down the street leh!! How can Marpig miss this!! muahahahahahahaha!! 猪扒!! 猪扒!! 猪扒!!

Bedok 85

Right, just got back from HK and gosh... Marpig has never been this tired... not even when she played hockey!! Think age is really catching up...

Anyway, letz do sm updates b4 Marpig goes onto sisz wedding in HK!!

As xpected, 1 of Marpigz fav activities in Singapore is makan spree. So, jioed just a teeny weeny little party to fit into the car. Therez very youthful Linn (joined us later and gosh, she waited so long for us!! Sorry!!), Sexy Lady, Big Boy (hereaft, BB) and Beenie, whom, flew us aeroplane for the 2nd time in record.

The 1st time Beenie flew us aeroplane was when we went for makan trip and suppose to go Sentosa see stars followed by sunrise followed by beach games. In the end, the trio (Sexy Lady, BB and Marpig) watched stars and sunrise together and nua on the beach ourselves b4 others joined in. Beenie came with a netball and left the trio.

This time, itz netballz fault again. Aft Beenie went netball training she said shez too tired to join us and once again, itz the uncanny trio (bless Marpig, she doesnt not wat does uncanny means)

Luckily the trio consists of 3 very crazy and xplosive members. :P

The journey begins as xpected, with Marpig being lost while driving to unfamiliar places. Starting from Bugis, met a fren who offered to help Marpig on how to get to Woodlands to fetch BB. Heu, her fren did not go with her and Marpig am left with a fren who doesnt noe how to read maps (she told Marpig we could "jump" from xpressway to xpressway, totally ignoring trees and structures and buildings) ... ...

Anyway, to avoid rush hour jam (not really appetising), Marpig decided to take a less trotted route, circumventing Orchard and BKE to get to KJE. BUT, ended up going to Tuas and couldnt find the xit to KJE from AYE. Biangz.

So fren and Marpig goes back AYE and ended up in NUS. By tt time BB called cos hez been waiting for 1/2 hour and Marpig hasnt reach Kranji MRT station. muhahahahahaha So, in the end, better to stay in Clementi and wait for BB to take MRT down.

Then, send fren back to city and went with BB to Owens Road to fetch Sexy Lady. End up both of us do not noe the way to Owens road but luckily Marpig noes how to get to KK and BBz gf stays ard tt area. Finally get to pick up Sexy Lady and itz... oh boy, 9pm!!

Aft much happy bickering of the trio in little car, we started off for 85!!

Right, trio didnt waste time in deciding wat to eat. Trio are decisive pple when it comes to food. Once we found a table (and kao. We found a round table with no table number and itz the ONLY round table in 85. Just tell food vendors THE round table and they noe where!!)

After chopping a seat with BB to 看水, Sexy Lady and Marpig immediately swept all stalls and ordered food like Tsunamis.

Noticed the food seem to have been nibbled on... cos BB kept saying hez famished and fd will be cold!! Duh... but seriously... the trio were really 狼吞虎咽!! *gobble gobble gobble!!*

After conquering 85, we started off for 豆浆油条!! We were in fact, late cos poor Linn was waiting for us and shez really tired (midnight is her bedtime!!) And, guess wat. Marpig am awarded with a fine for parking w/o coupon. Yeah. 50 dolla. kao. Wat can Marpig say?! *f##k*

Anyway, the trio were drunk from eating too much. So we tok and behaved funny at the 豆浆油条 place. Playing silly 豆奶 games like who can "kiap" the biggest pcs of 豆花 with a pair of chopsticks!! hahahaahaha All Linn could do was to watch with amazement (or amusement) at the most entertaining trio. Yes, we almost got the Fame Awards for Best Comedy, Best Actor and Actresses, Best Drama, Best Group, Best watever lah, b4 it became quite a copycat version of Oscar/Globe/etc fashion statement down the red carpet.

Wat a very "fulfilling" night indeed!!

(Aft sending Linn home, the trio nearly ate durians or went Serangoon for icecream!! But luckily we didnt!!)

Sisz Wedding!!

As mentioned in previous blog, Marpig and sisz woke up at 645am... suppose to be ard 530am... but... we woke up when the make up artist came... WOW.

So, itz crazy... brush teeth then make up cos BIL suppose to come at 830am... OMG. anyway, Marpig put on lasting make up cos not so impt and don want to 卸妆 and put it on again... but itz a torture for Marpig to put on eye liner so Marpig starts to tear and mas starts to run but not so horrendously... anyway... wore the make up from 7am onwards till midnight... kao. Marpigz face almost 烂掉!! hahahahaha

But main th is Marpigz sis is really beautiful!! Oh well, all brides look their best during their wedding dae!! :D)

So, BIL and his brothers came and "snatch" his bride!! Was really fun though don noe wat are the details... cos therez this superstitious thingy bout Marpigz dad and Marpig cannot be the 1st to meet face to face with sis and BIL... anyway, the game played was to have the brothers drink cans of Pepsi off from almost a metre long straw... hahahahaha they did of cos but the pots of flowers outside Marpigz house had sm caffine too!! OMG!!

Then they sang 童话 too!! Nice (sad) song... Marpig quite like it but... heu!! Marpigz sis doesnt noe the song and so, don really noe wat they were singing hahahahahaha but they did sang another canto song from Jacky Cheung... at least sis noes it!!

There was a 2nd test after he got in... but Marpig has no idea... shall really see the video (didnt have time to see during the dinner cos was doing abit of ushering and socialising)

Then, it was the church ceremony at St Teresa's Church :D) Was really simple and normal... but quite happy... Marpig did almost got overwhelm and nearly cried... cos... standing on the same aisle... for diff occasion...

The last time standing/walking down the aisle... it was pushing Marpigz mom coffin to the altar... sigh... time flies and now, standing/walking down the aisle... itz Marpigz sis wedding!! Marpigz mom will be so happy... she will definitely cry with joy...

Anyway, after the ceremony and guests more or less left, we went to pay respect to Marpigz mom... dad broke down for a short period... hmm... Marpig has no idea how he truly felt when his daughter got married but guess itz really a glad and happy feeling... he must have told Marpigz mom smth like, "our daughter has grown up and now has married, u can rest in peace" tt sorta ths... sigh... ... ... ...

Then came the night... dinner... wow... Marpig don felt really xcited... think felt more xcited if Marpig was a guest... last time used to fell so xcited when others invite us for wedding dinner... always think when will we be the hosts... now tt we r hosts, don really felt the xcitement intensely... but was really fun!! Gosh... as usual, pple who saw Marpig was beyond words bout Marpigz dressing... cos itz almost rare to see Marpig dressed up...

Anyway, sis was the prettiest!! Even Marpig says so!! More pretty than alot of other gals lor!! Cos we've got big eyes and mesmerising, charming and contagious smiles!! :D) Itz just tt we don normally make up or dress ourselves up like typical females... u noe, beauty should never be on clothes... too bad alot of Singaporean guys are too shallow, they fall in love with their eyes only... seriously, they are falling in love for the make up and clothes... duh. No wonder sex toys include manequins...

Anyway, itz a tiring dae and night... but everyth was worth it!!

Looking back over all these yrs... we've changed so much... gone through so much... really... both Marpigz sis and Marpig are really strong ladies with lotsa characters... ttz wat pple have to say to us. Relatives also said tt and itz gd on my father cos every1 says he is lucky to have 2 capable daughters... :D) Marpigz mom would have been really proud too... ... ... ... Thank u mom and dad and sis... ... ... thank u... ... ...

Marpigz momz sisz hubby aka Marpigz 姨丈 also said Marpig changed alot since Marpigz momz going away... he said Marpig used to be shy and kept to herself but seemingly strong and confident after tt... hmmm... actually... Marpig am more solemn (as wat Ah Lian said) and kept to herself after tt ordeal for sm period... itz only after all the yrs of studying, reflection, xperience overseas and working and socialising and events tt moulded the Marpig of today...

Cant believe so many yrs have slipped by... from baby to toddler, from student to working, Marpigz sis actually got married!! Seems just like a dream smtimes... The way we grow out of childhood... :))

More than Just Happy to be HOME!!

Very happy to be home once again!! Although it was barely... *counting* 5 months back since Marpig was in Sunny Island. Just felt xtremely homesick... then again... coming back... don really feel tt home sick...

Tend to take ths for granted at home... maybe itz the comfort level? was really nice... last yr didnt managed to have CNY... this yr also actually... cos gonna fly back on the 1st dae of CNY oh well , nvm. Ang pows!! Quite horrible to see this!! Especially Marpig is anti-smoking!! Hello!! Wat are pple thinking these daes?!

The next time Marpig makes a come-back will be in the yr 2008. Ah... shall update on sisz wedding!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Meanwhile, this time really feel the chong dong to hug my frens don noe why... maybe cos of the close encounter with fire? Ah... we need more hugs lah

Been lack of sleep and health is going downhill... throat hasnt been feeling gd... then worsened cos of crazy screaming at settlers cafe (cos over-xcited) and too much alchohol (which Marpig don drink)

The 1st th tt Marpig ate aft touchdown was seafood soup *ding ding ding!!* One food-to-eat ticked off the list!! :P)

Then met with JC classmates for dinner at COCA *ding ding ding*. Went settlers cafe aft dinner and played Jungle Speed, Fruity Fruity (not the name of the game which is supposed to be Halli Galli but thanks to XT, Fruity Fruity the game shall be called!! :P)) and Cranium!! Gosh!! Every1 was going goo goo ga ga and "violent" during the games!! hahahahahaha it was such great fun we didnt realise itz almost midnight and time to ciao. Sm of us went home while others went for a drink and catch up.
Start of the COCA steamboat buffet!! U haven see the aft!! :P)

So, we tok bout food, JC crushes to politics!! OMG!! In the end, we went home at 515am!! But it was really so nice to meet up!! Had 2 glasses of margaritas and wow!! TTz quite alot for Marpig already!!

Having slept at 530am, Marpig then woke up at 9am to go meet PS at Orchard. Don 12 be late cos PS said she will chop Marpig to pcs if she is late hahahaha Then, Marpig wasnt late but guess wat? PS was at home... she tot Marpig will drive and fetch her at 10am... duh... ahhahahaha anyway, they met and had bf at Crystal Jade. Started shopping for gowns and Marpig was suppose to be the 1 buying gown, in the end, PS bought 1 for herself... (she made her decision while Marpig was still busy trying the gowns... how EFFICIENT) Then, upon hearing a lady performing on the harp, PS suggested they should sit down, lim kopi and jia loti (cakes actually). So sinfully, we ate chocolatey cakes... ooo~~~

Having shop the whole dae w/o dying, Marpig then met up with Uni classmates for dinner. Ate ramen *ding ding ding* and yak yak yak!! So fun!! Loves yakking with frens!!

Then, itz 930pm and Marpig got to rush to meet Beenie. Wow!! 3 "shows" in a dae!! Then went to top of the M and had 2 xpensive cocktails; Brandy Alexandra and Chinatown(?!)... (Marpig vows she will have a minibar at home next time for cocktail making) Then gave Beenie her gift and yak yak yak until almost 130am. Took a cab home and slept at 2am.

Woke up next dae at 1130am. Totally gong gong. Throat is horrendously painful and coughing lots. Whole dae passed by sisz and BIL fretting over final arrangements for wedding and had nasi padang (chilli prawns!!) *ding ding ding* in the afternoon!!

But, once again, slept really late at ard 315am... woke up at 645am this morning for sisz wedding!!
