Analogy

Had a small chat online with Dingko Nut, told her tt Marpig is like a balloon filled up with Helium and any moment, might just get blown away if not for being tied to the ground by Responsibilities & Reality.

Felt like living a double life. One moment Marpig can be so childish, getting all swelled up and xcited over wat is inside a Kinder Surprise Eggie and the next moment, work 24hours non-stop, no food, no loo break just to do courseworks and study...

Very crazy & eccentric.

Homesick...

Mind has been going back to the past... Kept thinking of the good old times... Bad. Cos this simply means Marpig is homesick and is getting old. *shake head* All the food, all the people, all the fav haunts, the comfort zone...

Been working on the coursework & just handed in yesdae... don 12 go back & look at it again... hopefully grade is A... ARGH... but must thank JM! She edited the report for Marpig! :D

Been working with 10,000 data points and working thru the night till 5am in the morn... tt night was very foggy... perfect movie setting for a) Dracula lurking b) Sherlock Holmes Mysteries hahaaha




Marpig realise some of the many reasons why some Singaporeans don go back once they went overseas...:

1) Singapore doesnt gives itz citizen much choices nor 2nd choices. Either you are the cream of the cream (on purpose, not typo) or sorry, you cant climb the ladder as fast, we have to bypass you. Think ttz the adverse effect of meritocracy.
2) Jobs in Singapore are too narrow... erm... for tt Marpig means in terms of engr jobs... Most engr jobs are geared towards routine things... geared more to the dd of the industry... Marpig wanted something else... challenging jobs... not some process, QA, design, manufacturing engr...

SIGH... who will want to study so much and work in a job tt stiffles the creative and inquiring mind? Clearly monetary is secondary...

Just hope to go into lecturing/research with biz involvment as well, earn the keep, buy a car so tt Marpig can go anywhere to have supper...

Actually, ultimate aim is to go around Singapore and have supper everywhere, anywhere, anytime... :P

Actually JM, Marpig prayed to Him bout this coursework leh... cos was really forced to the wall and itz gonna be due this fri and Marpig until a few hours ago still working on the code.

"Ask, and it shall be given to u" TTz wat Marpig realised!

Also, Marpig realise Marpig cant just ask Him to throw me a solution at Marpigz face but can only ask Him for determination and perserverence to find tt solution. :p

Ate a Kinder Surprise Eggie a couple of daes ago when feeling down... very happy cos Marpig wanted to have Patrick and the eggie really contained Patrick!! :D)

Marpig is very very happy!! FINALLY!! Managed to write a simple FORTRAN code for solving Blasius Equation using shooting method! Managed to avoid using subroutines (involve passing in and out of info) but made use of arrays! Hiakhiakhiak!! But then again still got alot of things to refine (need to put a solver into it for better estimation of 1st guess)... and... 人就是贱... Marpig used simplest Euler's method... maybe should use more difficult methods like Heun's, RK2 or even RK4! Coursework due on fri though... don noe got time to do it or not... hmm... wanna do a GOOD JOB!

Another good news: Still rem the previous coursework for same module but root finding where Marpig also lament bout writing the code? Well... Marpig got A+ for tt!! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Apparently, ttz the highest grade! Yahoo! So happy! *Kissing the paper*

But. Very angry. Rem also tt Marpig mentioned bout this C. gal who asked sm1 else to write the code for her? Well, she got A-! SIGH... Itz 101% unfair! Pui! Only one word: Despicable. Ha! Marpig got the highest grade and well-deserved grade. Hers? Yucks.

She got the audacity to call Marpig again todae. Ask bout the 2nd coursework. Already told her Marpig don work with MATLAB still ask! Don noe wat is she trying to do. Think she wanna indirectly brag bout her A- (Think she disappointed tt Marpig didnt ask). Ha! Wait till she noe wat grade Marpig got.

Pressure: Need to do equally well for the Blasius coursework... hopefully can keep up tt A+ again... Will keep refining the report and code!

Once Again...

DSS Lab... got a student choice to simulate a dynamic system... 1st thing in Marpigz mind, Thermoregulation of Human Body... which Marpig did for Bachelor... hmmm... 4got most... itz an interesting topic... but... within a short time itz pretty impossible to know everything! Trying to do a very simplified dynamic system to show lecturer b4 confirming it works... 100% for this question... whew!

Brown Note

Was reading something bout Mach number = ratio of fluid velocity and speed of sound in tt fluid.

Came across subsonic aka infrasound.

Infrasound: Low pitched sound tt human cannot hear.
Impact: Can let human feel awe/fear/dizziness depending on the frequency.

Brown Note: A low frequency (btw 5 to 9 Hz) infrasound tt can cause human to lose bowel control. Hmm...

VERY SAD STILL.

Still don noe how to solve Blasius equation... how if the function is unknown? SIGH... will try writing a FORTRAN code for Euler's and RK4 1st... if possible...

Gonna have end of sem exams on 9, 11,12,13 Jan. 4 papers and 3-hour each. DIEDED.

No Xmas. No New Year. No LIFE.

5 courseworks (including the PAINFUL numberical methods which is trying to solve the Blasius equation), revision for past year exams papers to do. DIEDED.

Got to select and decide on MSc dissertation project by this coming week. CFD... Fluids...should Marpig take? Fluids. NEVER easy. Don have anything with thermodynamics. Can propose own project. But...will Marpig screw it up? Less than a year to do this dissertation. DIEDED.
